Most attacks on motive theaters are either by organized terrorists, lone wolf terrorists, or random people with no apparent political motive who look they could have been staged as an accident or random rage for political purposes to harm feminist or patriotic war movies.

25 injured, suspect arrested, motive: mental case believes he is ISIS terrorist June 21, 2016 Man with fake salt and cookies suicide belt mock terrorist at Belgian shopping mall A man identified only as J.B. claimed to have been abducted and dropped off at a Belgian shopping mall complex. He told police he had a suicide explosives belt that would be set off remotely. The belt was found to contain salt and cookies, and materials to make the belt were found in a search of his home, and suspect later admitted he had mental issues and made up the entire story. Authorities were investigating ties to terrorism.

During a showing of Mad Max, hee got up and started attacking movie patrons with pepper spray and struck a man with an ax When police arrived, the suspect fired at police with an airsoft gun, and when he fled he was killed by a SWAT team who thought he was armed with a real gun.

Nair Rodriguez got into a fight with her daughter outside Warren Theater when the father went out to follow them to settle things down. When officers asked Luis for ID, he tried to get past officers and was taken to the ground, as his family claim that five of them beat Luis to death. After being handcuffed by police, the main died.

A gunman, dressed in tactical clothing, set off tear gas grenades and shot into the audience with multiple firearms, killing 12 people and injuring 70 others. The sole suspect, James Eagan Holmes, was arrested in his car parked outside the cinema minutes later. It was the deadliest shooting in Colorado since the Columbine High School massacre in 1999, and had the largest number of casualties of any shooting in U.S. history.
