Summary When his neighbors complained in 2011 that he was playing loud music at his West Ashley apartment, Michael Donovan Oswald became verbally "combative" with the Charleston police officer who showed up at his door, an incident report stated. But the police couldn't link Oswald, a dog owner, to the vandalism. Revealed Wednesday in Charleston police documents, Oswald's history at the complex shed light on the events leading to his fatal encounter with sheriff's deputies later Monday, when he shot at the lawmen who knocked on his door, according to the authorities.
