September 20, 2014  Richard Becher, Holbrook youth sports backer, dies at batting practice after being hit by ball  A devoted Holbrook father described as a passionate backer of youth sports died after being hit in the head by a baseball while pitching batting practice to his 12-year-old son's team, his family and Suffolk police said.

September 20, 2014  Crystal MN Police Squad Car Window Smashed With K-9 Inside WCCO Crystal Police are asking for the public's help in finding the person responsible for throwing a 40-pound brick through the window of a squad car -- which had a K-9 officer inside. Police say the incident happened early Saturday morning in the police department parking lot.

The man didn’t hit the barricades or cause any damage, but was arrested on a charge of unlawful entry Washington DC
  4. 1 killed 6 threatened September 20, 2014 Rob Bironas Released Titans Kicker Rob Bironas who was star kicker for the Tennesee Titans before he was release was killed in a car crash Saturday night when he lost control of his 2009 GMC Yukon Denali and crashed in a one-vehicle accident just after 11 p.m. Motorists reported two road rage incidents when he tried to hit and run them off the road minutes before crashing his SUV. Four students saw Bironas at 10:45 p.m. threatened them with "I’m going to kill everybody in your (expletive) vehicle." and then chased them at speeds exceeding 100 m.p.h. Another couple pulled over after Bironas tried to merge into their lane, then got behind them and started to rev his engine. The wife of Bironas reported him missing to 911 after she thought he had gone to bed after they had been watching a movie at home with a friend Saturday night.

Bearson, 18, a first-year student, was last seen Saturday morning, and his cellphone does not appear to be working. Officials could not answer if there was reason to believe Bearson went missing under suspicious circumstances.

September 20, 2014  September 21, 2014 Two shootings in NE Minneapolis Star Tribune A man who was shot and killed 11 p.m. Saturday night has been identified as Earl Lee Malone, and officers arrested one person. A few hours later Eulalio Gonzalez Sanchez, 37, of Minneapolis was shot as he walked home from the bus stop Sunday morning but no arrests. The deaths are the 25th and 26th homicides in the city this year. Police believe they are not connected

September 20, 2014  Police say teen admits torching Fridley MN school playground September 21, 2014 A Saturday afternoon fire that burned half of the playground at the school was an apparent case of arson. FOX 9 reports that a 15-year-old admitted his involvement in setting the blaze. The teen told the station that he was smoking cigarettes with a friend and started a small fire with wood chips underneath the steps on a plastic slide. Investigators don’t know if the cigarette or the camp fire ignited the flames, but the station said that school surveillance cameras captured the incident.

Fifty-seven-year-old Gerald Mohs now faces multiple charges...1 killed 2 injured suspect convicted  September 20, 2015 Rochester man sentenced to 57 months for fatal wrong-way DUI hit and run crash. January 23, 2015 update   ... Gerald Anthony Mohs, 57, received the maximum penalty  57 months in prison Friday crash at about 8:15 p.m. Sept. 20. Mohs made a left turn but didn't go around the island drove west in the eastbound lanes. Mohs encountered three eastbound vehicles, officials said. The first was able to swerve out of the way, avoiding contact. The second vehicle, driven by a 19-year-old Rochester woman, was clipped by Mohs' vehicle, which then hit the third vehicle head-on. William Siems, 9 yr old boy died of his injuries. Bishop was treated and released, and her son Jeramiya Bishop, 7, of Plainview, suffered a spinal injury. Mohs fled the scene on foot. Driving license suspended since since 1979 and seven prior DUI convictions on his record.
