- Wyoming (Casper) Two Casper Police officers and a Wyoming Highway Patrolman responded to a domestic dispute then shot and killed Randall Williams man who they claim pointed two handguns at them.
- Georgia (Athens) Darden and a colleague shot and wounded an ATF agent during “an undercover law enforcement operation.” Officers shot and killed Javonta Darden. [3]

- September 8, 2014, September 30, 2014 Mesa bicyclist bus-driver rage assault azcentral.com A bus passenger demanded that the driver David Blair Housel move to a dry location after a rain storm, then complained about the bus service and shouted profanities before finally getting off the bus. Then returned shouting more profanities and charged at the bus driver, pounding blow after blow as Housel, restrained by his seat belt, covered up to soften the punches. Then the passenger grabbed his bicycle and left. A man was arrested in connection with the attack by September 30, 2014

- 2014-09-30 Kedra, David (26) Pennsylvania (Philadelphia) A state trooper was accidentally shot during a gun training exercise at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Complex and later died.[1]
- 2014-09-30 Williams, Randall (40) Wyoming (Casper) Two Casper Police officers and a Wyoming Highway Patrolman responded to a domestic dispute then shot and killed a man who they claim pointed two handguns at them. According to family, the man was intoxicated and took medications for mental illness. [2]
- 2014-09-30 Darden, Javonta (20) Georgia (Athens) Police reported Darden and a colleague shot and wounded an ATF agent during “an undercover law enforcement operation.” Officers shot and killed Darden. [3]
- 2014-09-30 Woodstock, Marlon (38) Florida (Sunrise) Friends of Woodstock called police for help and told them he was suffering from mental illness. Officers said Woodstock ran after being ordered to stop. After failed attempts at subduing him with a Taser and then a K-9, an officer shot him. "Ultimately, one officer was forced to discharge his firearm," said a police spokesperson.[4]
- 1 killed 1 at large August 11, 2014 Gas Station Murder of Boston Scientific Executive Kelly Phillips A Boston Scientific executive Kelly Phillips was fatally shot Monday at an Minneapolis-St. Paul area Arden Hills gas station. Phillips was general counsel and vice president for Boston Scientific, and a gay rights activist. Suspect Lyle Marvin Hoffman was a life partner with Phillips who helped found and run a popular Minneapolis Lush Food Bar gay night club. But when money went missing at the bar and business records disappeared, Hoffman was fired and evicted from an apartment owned by Phillips. After fleeing in the BMW, he left a trail as he used a bicycle, taxi and bus to rob a bank, visit the Mystic Lake casino, and buy items from a Ritchfield Target. A SWAT team searched a nearby airport but did not find him until he was recognized at an Arby's drive-thru order board and picked up by police Sept 11 in Shakopee. This man was acting like a terrorist at war with America, and a man who was out to shoot a corporate officer, not just a former lover and business partner.

- September 28, 2014 Asian teen fatally injured while 'car surfing' in La Crosse Wis. Star Tribune Police say 18-year-old Quacheenu Zach Vang of Holmen is dead after he suffered severe injuries while apparently "car surfing" in La Crosse. Authorities were initially told that Vang was assaulted by several people at Holmen High School, but later learned that Vang was car surfing with several people, and fell off a moving car. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
- August 19, 2010 Wrong-Way Driver Killed in 4-Car Pileup on 35E in White Bear Lake A wrong way driver on 35E caused a four-car crash at 4 a.m. when a car managed to dodge the driver only to sideswipe another car and crash head-on into a pickup truck, and the wrong-way driver was killed. 35E was closed for the morning rush.

- September 29, 2014 Forensic evidence links Hannah Graham suspect to kidnapped, raped and murdered Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington A forensic link has been established between the man suspected of abducting University of Virginia student Hannah Graham and the disappearance of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington five years ago, the Virginia State Police confirmed Monday. Can arrest in Graham disappearance solve 2 other cases in same area? .. if Matthew is linked to Harrington's death, and Harrington's death is linked to the kidnapping and rape of the woman in Fairfax, then is Matthew linked to the Fairfax case? According to CNN affiliate WTVR, there are at least two other women besides Graham and Harrington who have disappeared from the same area since 2009. Alexis Murphy of Lovingston and Samantha Clarke of Orange also went missing there. All the women were between 17 and 20 years old.
- 1 white victim killed 2 black persons arrested September 25, 2014 Fayetteville NC police arrest man in Thursday night Richard Street slaying Carlos Jacob Engle is charged with charged with first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, conspiracy and robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is accused of luring the victim, 32-year-old Mark Boyd II, into a co-conspirator's car on the pretense of helping him find a cheap hotel room. Boyd was cyclist on a journey from the Long Island city of Islip, New York. Police think Engle and the other man took Boyd to Richard Street, a dirt road in the Murchison Road area of Fayetteville. Police think Engle and the other man robbed Boyd there. A narrative says the other man told later detectives that Engle shot Boyd multiple times. Boyd's bicycle, his saddle bag, a bicycle route map, camping fuel and personal items were stolen. Alternate theory - appears to be a blatant murder staged as a robbery as they were found in housing project destroying the stolen property.
- September 29, 2014 2 bomb threats, school evacuated in same day in same city Police clear scene after bomb threat at Kansas City CVS store KMBC A bomb-sniffing dog was brought in and nothing was ever found. The threat followed a similar threat at a CVS store on Southwest Third Street in Lee's Summit on Monday afternoon. The store was evacuated, along with Liberty High School, a Culver's restaurant and a nearby bank.
- September 27, 2014 Two men arrested in University of Missouri apartments shooting into crowd Columbia Daily Tribune Two 19-year-old men, both black, arrested in connection to the Saturday shooting of a woman at the Aspen Heights student apartment complex armed themselves to protect against a possible fight with the group the victim was standing among. One vehicle had 2 bullet holes, and officers found a 22-year-old woman who was shot in her leg and was bruised on her left ankle. Jordan told police he retrieved a gun before a large group of people arrived who were planning to fight him, Herron and some of their friends, according to a probable cause statement. Witnesses told police that Herron shot into the air and Jordan shot the woman. Witnesses also reported that Jordan was shooting into the crowd after Herron started shooting. Herron is listed as an undeclared sophomore in the University of Missouri online directory
- 1 killed 1 wounded September 28, 2014 Expressions of grief, sadness, anger follow fatal alleged drug-related Skokie IL shooting Skokie Review Niles North High School classmates and friends attended a vigil Monday for two seniors who were shot the night before inside a vehicle on a tree-lined Skokie street. Sunday night’s shooting claimed the life of one teenage male and left a teenage female wounded. But many Niles North students Monday said that it was common knowledge the shooting had to do with a drug transaction that had gone wrong.

- September 27, 2014 Victim, suspect expelled from Indiana State University after dorm gambling shooting Both men were rolling dice, according to court documents. University officials had described the shooting as an isolated incident. Calvin McCauley, 21, was arrested on a preliminary charge of attempted murder for the shooting of Tevin Moore, 20, at the Lincoln Quad residence hall. Both men were African American. Shooting in campus housing with staged motive as opposed to obvious mass shooting.
