- September 27, 2014 Wrong Way Truck Hits Texas College Softball Team Bus In Texas, a tractor-trailer crossed the median and hit the side of a bus killing four members of a Texas community college women's softball team. The police were investigating it as a homicide. The driver told police he was distracted by something in his cab before the accident.

University officials had described the shooting as an isolated incident. Calvin McCauley, 21, was arrested on a preliminary charge of attempted murder for the shooting of Tevin Moore, 20, at the Lincoln Quad residence hall. Both men were African American. - 1 injured 2 arrested in mass shooting at college dorm September 27, 2014 Two men including student arrested in University of Missouri apartments shooting into crowd Columbia Daily Tribune Two 19-year-old men, both black, and one who was a student was arrested in connection to the Saturday shooting of a woman at the Aspen Heights student apartment complex armed themselves to protect against a possible fight with the group the victim was standing among. One vehicle had 2 bullet holes, and officers found a 22-year-old woman who was shot in her leg and was bruised on her left ankle. Jordan told police he retrieved a gun before a large group of people arrived who were planning to fight him, Herron and some of their friends, according to a probable cause statement. Witnesses told police that Herron shot into the air and Jordan shot the woman. Witnesses also reported that Jordan was shooting into the crowd after Herron started shooting.
