- September 28, 2014 Asian teen fatally injured while 'car surfing' in La Crosse Wis. Star Tribune Police say 18-year-old Quacheenu Zach Vang of Holmen is dead after he suffered severe injuries while apparently "car surfing" in La Crosse. Authorities were initially told that Vang was assaulted by several people at Holmen High School, but later learned that Vang was car surfing with several people, and fell off a moving car. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.

After a truck drove over cars, it turned into the crowd, knocked down the guardrail and crushed onlookers. Similar to when a monster truck in Mexico went amok on the crowd. Eighteen more were injured during the special event near the Netherlands-Germany border. Police said the driver of the truck was arrested after the accident

But many Niles North students Monday said that it was common knowledge the shooting had to do with a drug transaction that had gone wrong.

The first car hit by the Jeep was rear ended and erupted into flames, and some cars flipped over. One witness who stopped to help the crash victims also had a fire extinguisher in his car, and helped douse the flames. "Pieces, and cars, and fire, and everything kind of flying," crash witness Jennifer Simons said. Simons also says the driver of the green jeep was conscious but distraught, and asking for his family members. Police wanted to talk to the Jeep driver, but no cause has been determined for the crash

Ken Goodwin, 18, is accused of killing Justin Fallu and wounding three other teens after a wild fight broke out in an apartment in about 3:15 a.m. Sept. 28. Neighbors said teens had been partying and smoking marijuana for hours before a fight erupted and the party spilled out into the lobby. Goodwin, also known as Shakil Martin, stabbed Justin and two 18-year-old boys in the chest and a 17-year-old boy in the shoulder, cops said.

A dispute occured and Peter Louis John and another man there began beating Saros and "kicking his head like a football". John and two other men had blood on their clothing. Defence law argued that the other two men were also "drunk people who are totally inconsistent, violent, with a motive to lie, who did in fact lie" to put the blame solely on John. John will be sentenced for second-degree murder in November.

Niagara Falls Police Arrest One Black Suspect, Look for a Second, After Fatal Shooting of White Man N.Y. -- Niagara Falls residents are trying to make sense of a homicide that happened Tuesday night. Police believe an argument led to the shooting. Officers discovered 30-year-old William Reilly of Niagara Falls in the home with two gunshot wounds to the upper body. Reilly was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where he later died. Investigators said they have arrested the suspected gunmen 18-year-old Darrell Jermaine Belton of Niagara Falls. However, the suspect they believe was driving the getaway car has yet to be found. Serial Killer, 74, Sentenced To 3 Life Terms Without Possibility Of Parole LOS ANGELES — A 74-year-old man was sentenced Thursday to three consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole forstrangling three women in the 1980s. Samuel Little got sexual gratification out of strangling the women, all of whom were cocaine addicts, prosecutors said. A jury convicted Little on Sept. 2 of three counts of first-degree murder after just two hours of deliberation. Jurors also found true the special circumstance allegation of multiple murders. Little was convicted of killing Carol Alford, 41, whose body was found July 13, 1987, in an alley off East 27th Street; Audrey Nelson, 35, whose body was discovered in a dumpster behind East Seventh Street on Aug. 14, 1989; and Guadalupe Apodaca, 46, whose body was found inside a South Los Angeles commercial garage on Sept. 3, 1989. |
