21 casualties  2 killed 19 injured  June 2, 2014 Jerry Hickman Arkansas logging truck wreck In Clinton, Arkansas, two people were killed and 19 others were injured after a log truck driven by Jerry Hickman tire blew and overturned, spilling logs lost its load and spilled it on top of the construction crew working on the bridge.on a bridge in Clinton. Initially it was thought a mechanical problem as brakes may have failed after a tire blew out on a downhill driving Peterbuilt truck and trailer, but police established it was just the tire blowout that caused the crash.

Hickman was on probation for 3 years after pleading guilty in 2012 to possession, and the driver was taken into custody as two days after the accident the 20th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney's Office asked to have Hickman's probation revoked. Hickman initially denied using drugs, but tests showed Hickman was high on meth when he blew a tire and lost control, and admitted to authorities the day after the accident he had used meth.. He was charged with Negligent Homicide, 10 counts of 1st Degree Battery and six counts of 2nd Degree Battery.

September 24, 2014  arkansasmatters: 39-year-old Jerry Hickman wept and apologized while being hauled off to jail Wednesday afternoon. 'I'm sorry,' he said. 'I never meant for something like that to happen.' Moments earlier, Hickman was told his combined charges could add up to more than 250 years of prison time. Following the June 2, 2014 crash when his logging truck lost control and spilled logs over bridge workers, killing 2 and injuring 19, officers said Hickman's "motions were very slow" and his behavior "resembles a person that is intoxicated.".  Blood tests found levels of methamphetamine more than twice what's considered toxic. see Jerry Hickman Arkansas logging truck wreck
