Timeline Of Terroristic Incidents

Since 1999 Carl Chinn has recorded more than 1,000 such attacks  on churches and other houses of worship.  Most of these attacks in the United States by crazed criminals have no known motive, angry husbands who found out their pastor texted their wives, drunk drivers, or drivers whose "brakes fail" or "confused pedals". None have been tied to politically or motivated terrorist attacks. Why and who would deliberately target a church or pastor? There is absolutely no evidence of any connection between any incidents in the west, or in Vietnam and anti-Christian attacks by other religions.

On the other hand, attacks on churches in the Muslim world in nations like Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, and Syria by groups such as Boko Haram do have an obvious motive.

15 April 2019, as firefighters rushed to save the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris from a fire, a slew of bad actors started to spread an unfounded narrative that blamed the fire on Muslims and connected the incident, which is being investigated as an accident by authorities, to churches that had been recently vandalized in France.

February 2019 snopes  Ministry of the Interior released a report in February 2019 that tallied the number of acts of degradation (or vandalism) against various religious establishments. The Ministry found that there were 1,063 anti-Christian acts in 2018 (approximately 700 of which related to property crimes and 100 of which related to violent acts), 541 anti-semitic acts (81 of which were related to violence, 102 related to property crimes), and 100 anti-Muslim acts.  France simply had more churches. France is home to approximately 40,000 churches:  ttacks on Muslims were at their lowest levels since 2010, attacks on Christians were at the same level as the previous year, and that attacks on the Jewish community rose in 2018.

Police believe he was motivated because he was upset over a recent breakup and visitation issues with his son. Pastor Robert Carswell was shot in the leg when he grabbed Minter and others took his gun away. Minter fled but was captured by police. 1 injured, suspect arrested July 28, 2015 Houston Area Black Pastor Shoots Burglary Suspect Who Breaks Into Restaurant Week Later In Baytown 20 miles east of Houston, black Pastor Benny Holmes was awakened at dawn, took his pistol and found Lee Marvin Blue, 27, also black, had forced a door open to the church and was going from room to room, gathering electronic equipment, including laptop computers. When Holmes yelled at the burglar to stop,but  when the man turned aggressively toward him and he fired a shot, striking Blue in the shoulder. Blue was a transient who known to local police. 9 killed 1 injured  June 17, 2015 Charleston South Carolina Black church shooting  In the evening a mass shooting took place at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, one of the United States' oldest black churches. The senior pastor, the Rev. Clementa C. Pinckney, a state senator, was among the nine people killed. Suspect Dylann Roof was captured the morning after the attack in Shelby, North Carolina. On his Facebook page his jacket unusually has flags of two former white supremacist regimes:apartheid-era South Africa and Rhodesia, symbols once but now rarely associated in recent times by white supremacists. Roof has a prior arrest record for drug possession and trespassing. Authorities are investigating if it was a hate crime.

February 23, yet another Coptic Christian man, Hani, was fatally shot in al-'Arish, Sinai, by members of the Islamic terrorist group, Ansar Bait al-Maqdis. Hani was in his shop when three terrorists drove by and opened fire on him killing him immediately. Weeks earlier, masked gunmen stormed the home of another Coptic Christian man residing in al-'Arish. After robbing him and his family at gunpoint, they shot him several times in the head, instantly killing him. According to the slain man's wife, her husband was murdered "only because he was a Copt [Christian]." She pointed out that the masked intruders stole everything in sight — the money in his pockets, whatever jewelry she was wearing, her handbag, cell phones, and even a Bible. After plundering everything, they then shot the Christian "infidel" in the head, leaving his wife widowed and his children with no breadwinner.

On February 2, the Islamic State (IS) announced that it had executed yet another Christian priest in Mosul — Paul Jacob, who had been kidnapped eight months earlier. The Islamic State apparently also blew up his parish.

Cameroon: Islamic militants fleeing a three-nation offensive took revenge Thursday, February 5, by attacking churches, and shooting and burning to death as many as 100 people. According to Cameroon's Information Minister, Issa Tchiroma Bakari, approximately 800 militants from neighboring Nigeria's Islamic terrorist organization Boko Haram entered the Cameroon border town of Fotokol; there, they burned churches, "slaughtered youth who resisted joining them to fight Cameroonian forces" and then used the youths they took with them as human shields.
Egypt: A project to build a road around Fayum, Egypt, crosses territory around the Coptic monastery of St. Macarius and threatens to destroy this ancient archaeological site dating to the 4th century -- some 300 years before Islam was born and invaded Coptic Egypt. As aresponse to the project, the monastery's monks objected with passive resistance — laying their bodies before the path of the bulldozers, which arrived with shouts of "Allahu Akbar" from the company workers (click here for pictures of monks lying before tanks). Previously, the monks had submitted alternative plans for a road that would also preserve Egypt's ancient Christian site, but authorities rejected them.
Islamic State: IS militants blew up the Church of the Immaculate Virgin — one of the largest and oldest Chaldean churches in the ancient section of Mosul. "The organization," a security source said, "finished wiring the church with explosives this morning and detonated it, leaving widespread destruction in the church and neighboring buildings." The old church — which stood on the foundation of what was the most ancient Christian church in Mosul — had withstood previous militant Islamic attacks, including a 2008 car bomb attack. The Islamic State also continued to purge any sign or symbol of Christianity from one of the oldest Christian regions, the Nineveh plains of Iraq and the adjoining city of Mosul. Acts of wanton hate and destruction at the hands of IS members throughout February include the destruction of the cross of the St. John Church in the Hamdaniya district, the ransacking of the church, and the destruction of the cross of the Church of the Hour in Mosul. A large copper-encased statue of a statue of St. George was also stolen from the St. George Monastery in Mosul. Other Christian symbols and icons — including the statue of the Virgin Mary in the monastery's courtyard — were smashed to pieces.
Islamic State/Egypt: Hussein bin Mahmoud, a jurist of Islamic law for the Islamic State, said in an article published on February 17, and that also appeared on various jihadi websites, that all Christian churches in Cairo must be demolished. The article, "Ruling on Egypt's Christians," written like a fatwa, inaccurately asserts:
The ruling concerning the churches that are in Cairo is that they be destroyed, according to the consensus of the righteous forefathers [Salaf], because they are new under Islam, and Cairo is a new city whose original inhabitants were Muslim; there were no churches in it previously. As for churches in Upper Egypt, which may have been in existence before the Islamic conquest of Egypt, these may remain but may never be renovated or fixed.
The Islamic state cleric cited medieval jurist Ibn Taymiyya (d. 1328), some of whose fatwas deal with Islam's views on churches, which are described as "worse than bars and brothels." Taymiyya and many other jurists (such as Ibn Qayyim), in fact, called for the destruction of all churches built after the conquests (See Crucified Again, pgs. 35-36 for a review of the relevant fatwas/teachings).
Niger: According to a nun who escaped the violence that erupted after the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo published cartoons of Muhammad, 40 churches were torched and 10 people slaughtered. The nun added that "the intention was to torch all the churches with us inside them on Christmas Day and burn us alive!" This never came to pass but, as with theCharlie Hebdo cartoons, an excuse was found ("collective punishment" is often an excuse to kill — in this instance, blaming Niger's Christians for the actions of Parisian atheists). "Boko Haram students," said the nun, "believe they must kill Christians in order to take their place in paradise, but we won't surrender to fear because love must prevail over hatred."
Pakistan: On the morning of February 19, three armed men entered Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic church in Kasur district, Punjab, which is 97% Muslim. The men took hostage the church personnel, the assistant parish priest, Father Ijaz Bashir, and the congregation. Before leaving the premises, the men stole mobile telephones, cameras and a computer. This was not the first time the church was targeted. Earlier, Father Leopold, the parish priest, was robbed by thieves who "pretended to be ordinary members of the faithful wanting to enroll some children at the parish school. Then they suddenly pulled out guns."
Tanzania: A church in Mashewa -- in the overwhelmingly Muslim-majority area of the Muheza district of Tanga Region -- was set on fire. Before that, the pastor of the church had been repeatedly threatened.

Egypt: A 26-year-old Coptic Christian man and his fiancée were arrested on the accusation that they blasphemed on Facebook against the prophet of Islam, Muhammad, and his child-bride, Aisha. When the accusation was made that Michael Munir had posted something offensive concerning Muhammad, dozens of Muslims surrounded his house in the village of Dimyana in Daqhiliya governate, Egypt. The angry Muslims were reportedly about to set fire to his home when security forces arrived and arrested him. Munir was reportedly being held, pending investigation, for four days.
Iran: As reported on February 2, Victor Bet-Tamarz, a sickly 60-year-old Assyrian Pentecostal church leader, and another unidentified Christian — both of whom were among many Christians to be arrested after Iranian security forces raided his Tehran home during a Christmas celebration — remained behind bars. According to reports based on testimony from Christians present during the anti-Christmas raid, "Police was seen filming the arrests, forcing each Christian to state their identity, explain why they were there and why they thought they were being detained. Authorities reportedly separated men from women and proceeded to search them, confiscating Bibles, mobile phones and identification papers. Police also searched Pastor Victor's home, seizing his computer, mobile phones and books."
Pastor Saeed Abedini, who has been in imprisoned and tortured in Iran, in the brutal prisons of Evin, then Rajai Shahr, for three years in an eight-year sentence, also remains in unspeakable conditions for the "crime" of being a Christian.
Islamic State: Ten elderly and disabled Christians (eight men, two women) who "managed to escape" from the Islamic State, after refusing to convert to Islam, shared their experiences. On Oct. 24, IS forced them out of a nursing home in Mosul and plundered their money, jewelry and IDs. The group explained how they were also pressured to say the shehada (the Islamic oath accepting Allah, and Muhammad as his prophet) and become Muslim. Rahel, one of the women from the group, said "We did not want to become Muslim; we just wanted to leave." Another elderly man said: "IS used to beat us every day with their weapons or hands. They gave us little food." Separately, Islamic State members arrested the owner of Arab Generation, one of the oldest bookstores in Mosul, for selling Christian books. Islamic law bans the "promotion" of any religion other than Islam.
Lebanon: In early February, a number of Muslim students closed off the entrance to the College of Business Administration in Tripoli, Lebanon, calling for the immediate resignation of the newly appointed director of the school, Antoine Tanus. His crime? He is a Christian. In the words of the National News Agency, the students are protesting "over the hiring of a Christian director to manage the College of Business Administration." Students said that they would continue protesting until the Christian director was removed and replaced by a Muslim.
Saudi Arabia: America's supposed close friend and ally reportedly decreed the death penaltyfor anyone caught trying to smuggle Bibles or any other "publications that have prejudice to any other religious belief other than Islam." According to the Christian Post:
The Saudi Arabian government has reportedly passed a law that imposes the death penalty on people caught smuggling Bibles into the majority-Muslim country.
According to the HeartCry Missionary Society, the Saudi government issued an official statement signifying that capital punishment may now be used on those who smuggle Bibles into the desert nation, where the royal family upholds a strict Wahhabi brand of Sunni Islam.
The society's report added that the death penalty, which usually comes in the form of beheadings, can also be used against people who simply distribute the Bible and all other "publications that have prejudice to any other religious belief other than Islam." This means that anyone handing out any kind of religious literature that is not of Islamic faith can legally be executed. Tanzania: A February report told of how "a young woman from a Muslim background who had become a Christian, was beaten and badly burned by her parents after choosing to marry a Christian man. The attack came immediately after her baptism on Sunday 2 November in Zirai, Muheza district. Last year, Imamu Sudi Bin Umar of the Ansar Suna mosque in Al Masijid Tawaqal had urged all Muslim parents to punish children who chose to marry Christians."
Uganda: The Muslim uncle of two sisters in eastern Uganda physically beat and starved themfor converting to Christianity. On Sunday, February 1, the sisters (aged 14 and 16) converted to Christianity. In the words of one of the girls: "My uncle became so furious because we had embraced Jesus. He locked us inside the house and began beating us with a wooden stick, and then we were left for three days without food. At the third day, we felt as if we were going to die, and we began crying for help." A neighbor eventually heard the two girls while their uncle was away and let them out. They fled to the church for sanctuary and treatment. Beating and trapping the girls without food is the exact recommendation Islamic law offers for females who try to leave Islam, especially in the Hanafi version of Islamic of law. Weeks earlier in Uganda, a Muslim father killed his young daughter for converting to Christianity.

It was only days after the February 3rd attack when a Moscow teenager killed a teacher and a policeman and held classmates hostage Russia's first major school shooting, which was also not believed to be connected to terrorism. The media did not note any connection to other attacks on churches and clergy in the middle east or north America.

He was found in the church basement as the steeple erupted in flames and smoke.  Bychkou is a Belarus native who overstayed his visa. He was facing federal deportation proceedings in 2014. He was warned four years before he was in the United States illegally and was facing a deportation proceeding in Boston in 2014.He was picked up in Reno, Nevada, and was deportable. The church was not destroyed, but the steeple was a total loss.

Harris At 8:20 p.m. at the Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana, a black gunman Woodrow Karey walked up to black pastor Ronald J. Harris as he was singing and preaching before 60 people. Karey shot him once at close range, and hit him again when Harris fell to the floor. A 22 caliber pistol and shotgun were found nearby in the woods, and Karey called the police to turn himself in afterwards. No motive has been given, and the pastor's daughter has no idea why Karey stopped going to the church and then came back to murder. Karey later told police he had seen inappropriate text message sent by his wife to the pastor and Karey's wife had filed rape charges against Harris two days for his shocking murder

They used a Taser to subdue the man, handcuffed him, and locked him in their patrol car, where he died the same day when he was found unresponsive in the back of a patrol car. Tentorio was shot several times with a 9mm pistol as he was getting into his pickup truck at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Arakan town. The gunman fled with his brother on a motorcycle. The priest was the third Italian Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions (PIME) priest shot in Mindanao, and the second in the Diocese of Kidapawan. The National Bureau of Investigation arrested suspect Jimmy Ato in a remote village in Arakan in North Cotabato province. A spokesman for the PIME stated that the true masterminds of the murder and motives are unknown.
    • September 17, 2011 Youth pastor Todd Annis of First Assembly of God in Macclenny was ejected from his car and killed when he and his wife sideswiped by car racing at excessive speed by Holly King who was 22 driving with a suspended license.
