Wednesday September 24, 2013 White Plains Metro North Station in New York: At 11 a.m. a 21 year old woman was pushed in front of a Metro train, suffering leg trauma. The male suspect was quickly arrested by transit police. Harlem Line train service was disrupted for about an hour. Four trains were affected until noon two northbound and two southbound. In a completely unrelated mishap, thousands were stranded when the New Haven Line lost power for unexplained reasons between Stamford and Grand Central Station.

December 27, 2013 Erika Menendez pushed an Indian man onto an incoming subway train because she said “I pushed a Muslim off the train tracks because I hate Hindus and Muslims ever since 2001 when they put down the twin towers I’ve been beating them up.”  Victim Sunando Sen, was born in India and was raised Hindu. Mendedez fled but was arrested December 29 after a video of her walking away was broadcast.

It was the second similar pushing in a month with the death of 58-year-old Korean Ki-Suk Han by a black man who claimed to be angry and high.
