similar: Pushing People In Front Of Trains
Wednesday September 24, 2013 White Plains Metro North Station in New York: At 11 a.m. a 21 year old woman Hunter College student Maya Leggat was pushed in front of a Metro train, suffering leg trauma. The male suspect Howard Mickens was quickly recognized as a regular homeless panhandler with a long criminal history who lives in a White Plains shelter. The African American man , has 11 previous arrests, including several convictions and five violent felonies. He has several convictions, and willl be charged with 2nd degree attempted murder. He pushed her after asking her for money, and was quickly arrested by transit police. Harlem Line train service was disrupted for about an hour. Four trains were affected until noon two northbound and two southbound. New York saw previous seemingly unconnected incidents where a white woman who claimed to hate Muslims pushed an Indian man, and a black man who claimed to be on drugs and angry about losing a shoe pushed a Korean man to his death.
In a completely unrelated mishap, thousands were stranded when the New Haven Line lost power for unexplained reasons between Stamford and Grand Central Station.
Media coverage - Australia, but not evening US network news.
Good thing there isn't any evidence there are terrorist groups capable of recruiting someone to push a woman into a train, and cause train delays or sabotage the power to trains. Probably just some mental case and a random electrical glitch, not foul play, no connection to the Kenya Mall or Navy Yard shootings.

a man routinely hanging around the White Plains station.
“Homeless man decided to inflict some pain here and asks someone for money,” said newsstand operator Gary Waxman. “She came out of bathroom. She refused to give him money, and he pushed her in front of the train.”
It was an empty northbound Metro-North train pulling into the station that seriously injured the woman.
“Fingers were gone, legs mangled — that’s what I heard from police. That’s what they told me,” Waxman said.
the attacker is a regular in the area.
“And he had no confession or anything, just stood there and got arrested,” Waxman said.
Waxman said the man did not say anything that he heard, but, “I did hear through the grapevine that he said, ‘Now you’re going to take care of me.’”
