June 13, 2013 Yousef Adhami Gets Away With Murder, Kills LA Bus Driver With Illegal Tow Truck At 5:00 a.m A Los Angeles Metro bus was struck by a tow truck that was speeding from a side street at 60 in a 30 zone through a red light. The crash killed bus driver Olivia Gamboa, and sent the tow truck into a 7-Eleven, injuring an employee, and sheared off a fire hydrant sending water into the air. The tow truck driver Yousef Adhami was hospitalized in critical condition, and was apparently neither arrested nor charged in the case despite that neither he nor this truck or company had a proper commercial driver's license for towing or an operating permit for the business. The family of the bus driver was going to sue the estate of the other driver and the towing company. Media and authorities made little note of the role his religion or ethnic background might have played into a possible motive for a deliberate crash, nor his prior conviction in a terrorist style police chase and bomb threat.
Adhami’s Hermosa Beach Towing does not have a permit to legally operate in the state. In 2008 Adhami was living in Youngstown, Ohio when he previously drove like a terrorist as he led police on an eight-mile chase into Pennsylvania pursued by Pennsylvania and Ohio state troopers and the Southwest Regional Police Department. When cornered in a cornfield, he held them bay by warning he was wearing explosive bombs like a suicide terrorist bomber but eventually surrendered. He was convicted of fleeing officers and making terrorist threats. In California, Adhami had his licence suspended 4 times since 2009.
Jan. 8, 2008, Adhami was convicted after he acted like a wannabe terrorist leading officers from three police departments on an eight-mile chase from Ohio across the Pennsylvania state line. Pennsylvania and Ohio state troopers, along with officers from the Southwest Regional Police Department, gave chase until Adhami drove off a road into a corn field and skidded to a stop, a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article said. Police shut down the road for about a mile when he told them he was covered with explosives. Officers negotiated with him for about two hours until he surrendered. Bomb squad officers searched the area, but did not locate any explosives. Records show Adhami, a resident of Youngstown, Ohio, was convicted June 3, 2008, of making terrorist threats, fleeing or attempting to elude officers, recklessly endangering another person and making a bomb threat.

A trooper on a motorcycle had been killed in nearby Skagic County on May 31 where traffic had been redirected around the fallen span over Interstate 5. The driver showed symptoms of a diabetic seizure.

Jun 12, 2013 - A Gardena tow-truck driver suspected of crashing into a Metrobus in downtown Los Angeles and killing its driver led police on a high-speed chase five years ago, telling officers when he stopped that he had explosives strapped to his body, records show. Yousef Abdel Adhami, 43, who was reported in grave condition from injuries suffered in Wednesday's crash, had a valid license to drive a car through Aug. 5, but the state Department of Motor Vehicles records showed four suspensions for violations, including speeding and failing to appear in court, and that he lacked the proper certification to drive a tow truck. Los Angeles police investigators did not arrest Adhami following the crash but on Thursday continued to investigate for possible vehicular manslaughter or murder charges. Adhami reportedly was clinging to life at a hospital.
Records also list Adhami as the co-owner of J.R. Towing and Auto Repair at 14117 S. Western Ave. Gardena business license records showed the company had a license to operate through this month, but it
closed Dec. 6, 2012. The business also was listed as Hermosa Beach Auto Repair and Body.

On June 13, 2013, at approximately 5:00 a.m., a Los Angeles Metro bus was struck by a tow truck that had run a red light. The Metro bus, which was operated by experinced driver Olivia Gamboa, was struck in the intersection of 5th Street and Broadway in downtown Los Angeles.
Mrs. Gamboa was trying to make a left-hand turn from 5th Street onto Broadway when the bus was struck by a tow truck.
