1 killed 1 arrested February 2, 2013 Veteran Navy SEAL Chris Kyle was shot and killed at a shooting range on February 2, 2013, near Chalk Mountain, Texas, along with a friend named Chad Littlefield. The shooter was 25-year-old fellow veteran Marine Eddie Ray Routh, whom Kyle and Littlefield had purportedly taken to the gun range in an effort to help him with what they were told by his mother was post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), is awaiting trial for murder, and gave no motive. Some conspiracy theories blame the US government for ordering his death, others wonder if Kyle's killer could have been commissioned by his enemies that he once fought.

February 3-12 2013: Christopher Jordan Dorner a former LAPD police officer was charged in connection with a series of shooting attacks on police officers and their families from February 3–12, 2013. The attacks left four people dead, including three police officers, and left three police officers wounded. Dorner was the subject of one of the largest manhunts in LAPD history,[5] spanning two U.S. states and Mexico.[6] Feb 12, Dorner died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, during a stand-off with police at a cabin in the San Bernardino Mountains. The LAPD declared Dorner to be a "domestic terrorist".

February 3 2013 In the city of Irvine, in the evening hours, 28-year-old Monica Quan, and her fiance, 27-year-old Keith Lawrence, were found shot to death in Lawrence's parked white Kia Optima, outside their condominium complex. Quan, an assistant women's basketball coach at Cal State Fullerton, was the daughter of Randal Quan, a former Los Angeles Police Department captain[39] and lawyer who formerly represented Dorner during Dorner's dismissal hearing from the LAPD. Lawrence was a campus security officer for University of Southern California.

February 5, 2013 Yusuf Ibrahim, a 27-year-old Egyptian immigrant allegedly beheaded two Coptic Christians living in New Jersey.

Perpetrator arrested deemed not mentally fit for trial  February 11, 2013 Nhan Lap Tran Shoots At Random Cars in Oakdale MN Near St Paul Vietnamese immigrant Nhan Lap Tran fires at and hits moving cars cars with a 9mm semiautomatic handgun with deadly precision. He is carrying a fanny pack full of bullets and 2 loaded magazines, a backpack with more bullets and two large stabbing knives. He killed 9 year old fourth grader Devin Aryal, who was in his car seat in his mother's minivan, and also hit and wounded two other drivers. His stated motive was "noisy cars made him shoot randomly". His family says that he is mentally ill, and has 3 times been deemed mentally unfit for trial. Story was covered internationally by UK DailyNews, Rawstory, Beforeitsnews and Fox television news.
  2. February 11, 2013, May 2013 St. Paul teen prostitute's killer enters plea deal St. Paul Pioneer Press Alberto Palmer, an Illinois native, had previously pleaded not guilty. Palmer's plea is contingent on him also pleading guilty to first-degree murder of  Klarressa Cook from Georgia in May 2013, and likely to get life plus 40 years. February 11, 2013 Alberto Palmer solicited a prostitute Brittany Clardy, argued over payment and he hit her in the head with a  hammer, and hid her body in a car that was later impounded. He arrived in Minnesota fleeing charges of brutally assaulting 3 prostitutes in Georgia between September and December of 2012, and with a criminal history in Illinois. Cook’s body was in the trunk of a car towed April 11, and her body was discovered May 20 by lot employees who detected a foul odor. Palmer was arrested March 6 in connection with Clardy’s death, Palmer met her through the online website backpage.com (thug-as-terrorist attack?)

February 12, 2013 Guam Tumon stabbings and car rampage In Tumon, Guam's tourism district 21-year-old Chad Ryan Desoto started revving his engine of his his blue Toyota Yaris, and drove onto the sidewalk, mowing down two Japanese couples and then another 300 yards through a crowd of tourists. He crashed into a store and started stabbing people, killing 3 and injuring 11 others, including an 8-month-old infant and a three year old toddler. Gov. Eddie Calvo reached out to the Japanese Consulate to help victims’ families. A 28-year-old woman and an elderly 82-year-old woman died from stab wounds. Desoto was a local actor who told police he wanted to injure as many people as possible, but no motive was established. The attack echoed the Akihabara massacre where a truck ran over people and the driver ran out to stab the crowd.

February 18, 2013 In Tustin, Southern California Ali Syed, a 20-year-old Muslim shot randomly at passing cars and killed three people in Southern California before killing himself. The three victims were 3 victims identified as Courtney Aoki, a dancer acqaintance who was found murdered in his parent's house, Mel Edwards, and Jeremy Lewis

On February 20, 2013 at 4:20 a.m., a shooting and a fiery crash occurred at the Las Vegas Strip, killing 3 people and wounding six others. A Range Rover Sport pulled up towards a Maserati car during a stop light, which mortally shot the Maserati driver who was Kenny Clutch, a rap artist from Oakland, California. The Maserati crashed into other vehicles, including a taxi which burst into flames, killing the driver and an occupant. Ammar Asim Faruq Harris, a 26 year old African American self-described pimp from Miami with a history of prostitution arrests was later tracked down and arrested in Studio City near Los Angeles, California. Harris had previously been arrested in a 2010 prostitution case. Charges of robbery, sexual assault, kidnapping and coercion with a weapon were dismissed, and police sought charges of pandering by force and felon in possession of concealed weapon. Court records show that case was dismissed June 2012. Harris was convicted in South Carolina in 2004 of felony possession with intent to sell a stolen pistol. He was also convicted in Atlanta of a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge.

Murder of  Anthony Liddell Coastal Carolina University student February 27, 2013 Just outside a 2,000 student residence 2 miles from Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina, sophomore Anthony Liddell died after he was shot in 3 times in the parking lot, as the gunman fled. The Horry County Grand Jury indicted Marquis Spencer McDonald, 20, and Stephon Mclain, Jr., 22, both of Conway for the shooting. McDonald surrendered to authorities and is not a CCU student. Horry County Solicitor Jimmy Richardson said the shooting was not random. When McDonald exited a vehicle to meet with Liddell in a pre-arranged meeting, he had a short conversation before shooting Liddell three times.

March 18, 2013 Georgia Infant Antonio Santiago Shot In Stroller 17 yr old Kareem Elkins (African American) arrested threatened (white) mother Sherry West.After telling him she didn't have any money, the gunman then asked, "Do you want me to kill your baby?" Elkins shot her in the left ear leg, then the 3-month-old son, Antonio Santiago infant boy sitting in the stroller in the face, killing him. 5-year-old Dominique Lang also arrested on murder charges who mostly hid behind Elkins.

    Arrest of Terrorist With Guns, Body Armor at University of Washington A man was stopped sleeping in a truck near the University of Washington on July 2. After he was released, police checked his vehicle and found it had been stolen from Montana. The next night, July 3 police arrested  21-year-old Nevada resident Justin Miles Jasper and found that he had stocked up for a terrorist mass casualty attack with a stolen rifle with a scope, body armor and firebombs. The FBI was investigating along with the arson-bomb squad.  Rather than announcing that they had foiled a terrorist plot, the declared "there does not appear to be any threat to the University of Washington community". Officials appeared baffled at the man's motives as "it’s not clear why the suspect was in Seattle or what he planned to do with the stolen guns and other incendiary devices."
