February 12, 2013 University of Maryland Murder Suicide Graduate engineering student Dayvon Maurice Green set fires in his building and shot his housemates when they went to put out the fires, killing one before he then shot himself. There was no apparent motive. Police found a 9mm handgun next to Green’s body, and also found an assault bag which included a baseball bat, a machete, a fully-loaded semi-automatic .22-caliber rifle and ammunition, but police did not release any motive.
He was armed like a terrorist, but no officials mentioned terrorism as a motive. PressTV mentioned the shooting along with other deadly campus violence incidents in 2013.
