Most Somalis today are integrating into the US society and economy, but like many ethnic groups, and number of them have fallen into trouble and the movement of Islamist inspired terrorism, and some of the innocent are victims of the not-so-innocent. Hundreds of Somalis resettled in America have been investigated, arrested and convicted of violent crimes and terrorism-related charges, and over 50 have left the U.S. to join the ranks of Islamist inspired terrorist groups such as ISIS, al-Shabab and al-Qaida. The numbers of terrorist incidents per year is very, very small but notable the same.

A man and woman in their 50s and a British Transport Police officer were seriously injured. The suspect, originally held on suspicion of attempted murder, is now detained under the Mental Health Act. He then took a female escort hostage in an apartment. He contacted both the police and the media. Police responded and Khayre died in a shoot out with three police officers wounded. Khayre had referred to ISIS and al-Qaeda in a phone call to the media. In 2010 he had been acquitted of the Holsworthy Barracks terror plot after 4 August 2009, four men connected with the Somali-based terrorist group al-Shabaab were arrested and charged. In 2009 at age 21, Khayre traveled to Somalia for training with Al Shabab terrorists. November 28, 2016 Ohio State University Apparent Terrorist Attack Police said they are investigating whether it was a terrorist attack when a fire alarm went off then a car with one person drove into the crowd outside and attacker got out of the car and started stabbing people before confronted by police and shot to death. Attacker was identified as Abdul Razak Ali Artan, a Somali-born legal permanent resident of the U.S. Suspect is student who arrived to US as a refugee from Muslim nation of Somalia.
2. 10 injured, suspect killed September 17, 2016 Islamist Terrorist St Cloud MN Crossroad Mall Mass Stabbing a mass stabbing occurred at the Crossroads Center shopping mall in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Members of the Somali community identified the suspect as Apollo High School graduate and St. Cloud State University student Dahir Adan. On the way he hit and run a bicyclist with his Camry car He wore the security uniform he had from his previous job, He walked into a cellphone store with two kitchen knives and stabbed an employee who ran out. He tried to enter another stores which shut the gates. He heard to shout "Allah" and asked off duty police officer Falconer if he was muslim. Falconer saw the knife, announced he was a police officer and ordered to drop the knife, chased him into the Macys. Falconer shot  Ten people were injured, and the attacker was shot dead inside the mall by an off-duty law enforcement officer who had a gun. He had told his father he was going to buy a new iphone. Within hours, the ISIS terrorist group called him one of their soldiers, but authorities chose to discount the claim without further proof.

December 5, 2015  1 arrested 3 injured: Muhaydin Mire London Subway "This is for Syria" stabber , Somali man attacked three passengers on the London Underground using what was described as a 3-inch  knife. The attack took place at Leytonstone station in east London. One of the three victims was seriously injured, and the other two sustained minor stab wounds. The suspected perpetrator was named as 29-year-old Muhaydin Mire of Leytonstone.  During the attack, the suspect was reported to have declared: "This is for Syria, my Muslim brothers." The phrase: "This is for Syria", is the statement used by the perpetrators of the shooting at the Bataclan theatre during the November 2015 Paris attacks. The attacker also shouted, "all your blood will be spilled". His brother claimed the suspect was not radicalized but just paranoid from marijuana drug use, and did not get help when his parents called police.

8. 3 killed suspect killed January 14, 2015 FINLAND: SOMALI man who hacked two men to death with an axe at a Pub killed by police A SOMALI immigrant attacked and hacked two men to death with an axe at a pub in Tuira area of Oulu, police said. The attack took place at about 6:00pm and included one employee of the pub. Police offered no motive, but counterjihad pundits pointed to his likely Islam religion as a possible clue.

1. December 4, 2014  Ahmed Aden Charged Murder Vehicle Attack Kills Teen Outside Kansas City Mosque 1 killed suspect charged with murder.  Ahmed H. Aden admits he drove his Chevy Blazer into Staley High School teen Abdisamad Sheikh-Hussein near a downtown Kansas City mosque, but he thought he hit one of the men who had threatened him nine days earlier. One suspected motive is anti-Muslim hatred as the Somali-Christian had messages on his vehicle including  “Quran is a virus disease woreste [sic] than Ebola.” and had reported to authorities as terrorizing the community for months, having verbally threatened members of the mosque on multiple occasions, and once declared that he “intended to kill several people.”   Aden's family described him as a schizophrenic, and he was committed to a mental institution for two years after threatening to burn down a social security office in Minneapolis. He had described himself as a prophet, and made rants against Islam and threats against Muslim worshippers.

1 killed, 1 arrested black victim, Somali suspect August 5, 2014  Ibrahim Abdullahi Murder of Jeffery Earl Willingham Sr. On Tuesday night, the 24-year-old St. Paul rapper Jeffery Earl Willingham Sr. was shot in the city's Lexington-Hamline neighborhood, and died the next day. That afternoon, police arrested Ibrahim Abdullahi, 26, on suspicion of murder in connection with the shooting, but has not been charged. He was with friends at Dunning Park when a man said something to them, pulled a gun and fired into the air. They tried to disarm him when he started firing into Jeffery, The victim had two CDs, and his third will be released this year (Pioneer Press)

January 1, 2013 Minneapolis Apartment Building Explodes And Burns Injuring 13 An apartment building near a mosque in Minneapolis, Minnesota exploded into flames. 13 were hospitalized with injuries, 6 were injured critically. at least 3 were missing. One man with his legs evidently blown off evidently fell out of a window. The store owner reported some sort of an electrical shock or surge, which was followed by a later explosion and fire. The arson squad is asking for tips. 3 were initially reported to be missing, 2 bodies were later found.

1 beaten, 4 guilty Edwin Daniel good samaritan gas station beating May 25, 2013 Ibrahim Abdullahi was convicted in 2010 beating of a good Samaritan who can no longer read at St.Paul gas station and was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison, along with accomplices Abdiaziz Hirsi, Zakaria Yusuf, and ringleader Ahmed Hirsi. At that time, his lawyer said his client had won respect since the decade he had arrived in the Somali-American community. He was a college student who received a full scholarship out of high school and had worked to tutor younger students and assisted the elderly since he was 15. Abdullahi arrested in 2014 for random murder of rap artist.

Dominique Jason Flanigan, 41, of Fargo, also known as Kadafi Al Sadar, was arraigned Monday on two counts of transmitting threatening communications and one count of interference with a federally protected activity, the highest count of which is a felony, according to court documents. Flanigan was arrested and is being held in the Cass County jail. A grand jury indicted Flanigan Dec. 12 for leaving a voicemail message at the synagogue in Fargo that allegedly threatened its employees because of their religion, according to a news release from acting assistant attorney general for the Civil Rights Division Jocelyn Samuels and Timothy Purdon, U.S. attorney for North Dakota. The recently unsealed indictment alleges Flanigan called Temple Beth El on Jan. 4, 2011, The indictment says that Flanigan was calling from Florida.

Kalmio, who had a history of violent crime, was working in North Dakota’s oil patch at the time of the killings and said he was in the U.S. under political asylum....witness said Kalmio and Zephier argued days before she was found dead. Kalmio’s co-workers at an oil rig site near Williston claimed he had told them Zephier purposely became pregnant and that she had ruined his life.... Kalmio and a group of other Somali men were accused of attacking a man in Minneapolis in January 2006, and Kalmio stabbed him three times in the back with a knife. He was convicted of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and sentenced to about a year in prison. Kalmio also was convicted of theft in 2006, and ordered to pay a fine. Multiple slayings are virtually unheard of in North Dakota, which had only 10 murders and non-negligent homicides in all of 2010 and 24 homicides the next year, according to data compiled by the FBI.
