- November 12, 2017 Mall of America Macy's Stabbing Mahad Abdiaziz Abdirahaman, a Somali from Minneapolis was arrested after he stabbed two men at Macy's at Mall of America in an apparent robbery attempt. The year before he had Abdiraham stabbed two staff members with a pen last year at an in-patient psychiatric unit but he was acquitted due to mental illness. In January 2018 he told the court that the attack was actually inspired by ISIS "to answer the call for Jihad by Abu-Bakr al-Baghdadi by the Mujahiden of the Islamic State" and "you will never be safe as long as your country is at war with Islam. On the same day in the same mall, Mall of America Ride Operator Amin Isse Mohamed was Arrested For Groping but there was no connection to terrorism.
