July 8, 2013 Driver Hits Massive Propane Tanks Behind Virginia K-Mart Teen driver Huntor Minor loses control in a low speed parking lot behind a K-Mart. To avoid hitting the ditch, he swerves behind anti-collision barriers and steers toward the six massive submarine style propane tanks they were protecting. He hits one of the large tanks, and runs as a leak causes a massive evacuation as a massive explosion and fire is averted. He is charged only with reckless driving.
Northern Virginia Daily reports that teen driver Hunter Minor, 19 was driving too fast when he approached a right turn around the low speed access parking lot behind the Front Royal K-Mart. After he lost control of his car heading towards the ditch, the car bypassed the southern opening in a ring of anti-vehicle barriers protecting a row of six massive 1,000-gallon submarine-style propane tanks. Regaining control, he avoided the ditch by swerved towards the propane tanks. He rammed a cage of smaller tanks and damaged one of the large tanks. He drove away in a hit and run because he feared a gas leak, causing a massive evacuation. He would be charged with nothing more than reckless driving after police accepted his story.
