Friday July 26, 2013  Woman Arrested For Green Paint Monument Vandalism In Washington DC, the Lincoln Memorial vandalized with green paint in the first incident since 1922. On 2013 July 29 a homeless woman from China woman whose visa expired July 27 was arrested for paint splattered at the National Cathedral. 58 year old Jiamei Tian was known to other homeless people and those serving the homeless. She was suspected to have been responsible for splashes of green paint at the Lincoln Memorial, on a statue outside the Smithsonian Castle, on an organ at Luther Place Memorial Church, and on statues and an organ in the National Cathedral.

 She was found hiding in a restroom at the Cathedral with green paint splotched on her shoes. No motive was given but it is suspected she may be have mental health issues. On August 2nd, she was released to a halfway house and ordered that she wear an ankle monitoring bracelet and barred her from leaving or having visitors.

 A woman charged with defacing the Washington National Cathedral has been ordered released to a halfway house. Jiamei Tian appeared at a preliminary hearing in D.C. Superior Court on Friday. A judge also ordered that she wear an ankle monitoring bracelet and barred her from leaving the halfway house or having visitors. The 58-year-old has been charged with damaging two chapels of the cathedral with a soda can of green paint on Monday.
