Two Black Teens Beat WWII Veteran To Death In Spokane


August 21, 2013 88 year Delbert "Shorty" Belton a retired aluminum company worker was brutally attacked in the parking lot of his Eagle lodge Wednesday night. 16 year old Kenan Adams-Kinard and another black teen beat the man with large flashlights. Some are linking this to shooting of Chris Lane the Australian baseball player shot at random, and that the president and civil rights industry given black youth a reason to attack whites. Kinard told his mother they beat the man after they tried to buy drugs from Belton, but there was no evidence this could have been true.

Spokane has also been a location of terrorist threats against officials and Anthony E. Garver, an an anti-government extremist, who studies Al-Qaeda and idolizes Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh who was arrested for the murder of a young woman Phillipa Evans-Lopez in Lake Stevens Washington.

It has received a lot of media attention and many people all over the country are suggesting it to be a racially motivated crime, which may rise the magnitude for the seriousness of this crime. However, hate crime charges have not yet been filed. Due to the victim's age, it also makes it an even more disturbing and somewhat of an unusual crime. For now, I may be learning towards a keep. According to NBC News, one of the two teenagers charged with murdering a World War II veteran is reportedly claiming they were buying crack cocaine from the 88-year-old man when the exchange turned violent. ..Prosecutors said in court Tuesday that police found a letter Kenan Adams-Kinard wrote to his mother reportedly claiming they beat and robbed Delbert “Shorty” Belton because he stiffed them in the crack sale, The Spokesman-Review reported. Adams-Kinard, 16, was making his first court appearance since he wasarrested on first-degree murder and first-degree robbery charges Monday.
“There’s absolutely no truth to that whatsoever,” Belton’s nephew Ian Day told the newspaper after court. “By saying these things they’ve brought darkness upon themselves.”
