Terroristic Security Incidents by Category |Timeline
Total: According to the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center, Iran has been tied to at least 162 extrajudicial killings around the world since 1979, often against other Iranians . At the end of 2010, a reliable Iranian source in Western Europe, who declines to be named for obvious reasons, declared that 251 people had been killed abroad by the Iranian revolutionary regime, 180 of them in Iraq. This does not include various acts of mayhem committed by, or against persons of Iranian or Persian ancestry in the US which have not been tied to any nation or terrorist groups.

2014 Sydney hostage crisis, ] occurred on 15–16 December 2014 when a lone gunman, Man Haron Monis, held hostage ten customers and eight employees of a Lindt chocolate café located at Martin Place in Sydney, Australia. Police treated the event as a Islamist terrorist attack at the time,[12][15] but Monis' motives were subsequently debated. However the findings of the Coroner in 2017 deemed the event to be a terrorist attack. Monis was was an Iranian-born refugee and Australian citizen[2] who took hostages in a siege at the Lindt Chocolate Café at Martin Place, Sydney on 15 December 2014,[3] lasting for 17 hours, until the early hours of the following morning. The siege resulted in the death of Monis and two hostages. While Monis had a warrant out for his arrest in Iran, he sought political asylum in Australia in 1996,[6] which was granted in 2001.[7] Monis variously promoted himself as an Iranian intelligence official, a political activist, a spiritual healer and expert in black magic, an outlaw bikie and a Muslim cleric.
December 24, 2012 Insider Assassination of Joseph Griffin In Kabul By Iranian Immigrant In Kabul, Afghanistan, Afghan policewoman Sgt Nargis fired a single shot at Joseph Griffin of Mansfield, Ga in a heavily secured police headquarters. It was seen as the the first-ever insider attack by a female officer. Griffin was a former US military officer who was advising Afghan police. Nargis had been assigned to the gender and equality department of the police headquarters. Various theories of her motives were that she might have been an Iranian agent since she born in Tehran and had an Iranian passport. She married an Afghan and moved to the country 10 years ago after her husband obtained fake documents enabling her to live and work there. Another theory was that she had a clean record but was mentally ill. She told interrogators she "went to work aiming to kill someone important, and that she did not much care who"

- To defeat ISIS we must target the godfather of terror -- Iran Alireza Jafarzadeh Iran guard IRGC is mostly fighting the Free Syrian Army and Jaish al-Fatah and its associate forces; it is not even present in regions where they could come into contact with ISIS. This brand of extremism, which merged backward ideas with terrorism, emerged when the mullahs seized power in Iran in 1979. Ever since, Iran’s clerics have institutionalized this sinister phenomenon, which has evolved into a pillar of their rule. The first macro hostage-takings, suicide operations, and street bombings in the west under the cloak of Islam, occurred subsequent to the ayatollahs’ rise to power. Utilizing the power of a state, Iran’s clerics lent Islamic fundamentalism an unprecedented scope, legitimizing their vicious conduct under the banner of Islam while mentoring and inspiring other like-minded extremists.Simply put, the regime ruling Iran is the Shia version of this menace, and ISIS is the Sunni version. Tehran is the godfather, with a much longer record and, as a state, with deeper pockets, both in terms of resources and political leverage. author is deputy director of the Washington office of the National Council of Resistance of Iran

.Timeline Outside the US
July 22, 1980 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dawud_Salahuddin In 1980, Dawud Salahuddin, an American convert to Islam, was recruited by the then newly formed Islamic Republic of Iran to assassinate Ali Akbar Tabatabai, a former press attaché at the Iranian Embassy in Washington who became a vocal critic of Ayatollah Khomeini and founded the Iran Freedom Foundation, an organization opposed the Islamic revolutionary regime.3 In 1979, Salahuddin accepted a post as a security guard offered by Ali Agha, the embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires. Salahuddin was moved to a head security post at the Iranian Interest Section at the Algerian Embassy after the U.S. and Iran severed diplomatic relations in April 1980. While at this post, according to Salahuddin, he was contracted and paid $5000 to “kill for the Iranian Government.”4 Dressed as a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier, Salahuddin carried a parcel concealing a handgun to Mr. Tabatabi’s front door on July 22, 1980. Salahuddin shot Mr. Tabatabi three times when he answered the door to his Bethesda home.5
Following the killing, Salahuddin fled to Canada and purchased a ticket to Paris. Eventually, he arrived at the Iranian Embassy in Geneva and received a visa to Iran where he was accorded a private meeting with Ayatollah Khomeini.6 U.S. authorities have charged him with murder; he remains a fugitive to this day.
In the 1983 Beirut barracks attack, 299 U.S. and French service personnel were killed, blamed on Iran which recruited Hezbollah.
February 1984 assassinations of General Gholam Ali Oveissi in Paris in February 1984
1985-86
Between December 7, 1985, and September 17, 1986, Paris suffers from a bombing campaign in which 11 explosions kill 13 people and injure 255. An Islamist group calling itself the Committee of Solidarity with Arab and Middle East Political Prisoners -- or CSPPA, the acronym for its French name -- claims responsibility. The group is evidently closely linked with the Lebanese Hezbollah, which receives both ideological guidance and material support from the Islamic Republic. The CSPPA demands the release of three people imprisoned in France, including Anis Naccache "of the jihad. In the past Iran has relied on fairly unskilled and simple operatives to carry out attacks in the past. For example, Iran and Hezbollah relied on Fouad Ali Saleh to run a cell of twenty operatives responsible for a series of bombings in Paris in 1985 and 1986. Saleh, a Tunisian-born Frenchman (a convert from Sunni to Shia Islam) who sold fruits, vegetables and clothing in the Paris subway, was as unskilled and unlikely an operative as Arbabsiar, the Iranian-American car salesman arrested in the al-Jubeir assassination plot

Year 1988:
December 21, 1988 Pan Am Flight 103 Lockerbie bombing was a Pan Am transatlantic flight from Frankfurt to Detroit via London and New York City that was destroyed by a terrorist bomb killing all 243 passengers and 16 crew on board. Large sections of the aircraft crashed into Lockerbie, Scotland, killing 11 more people on the ground. Gérard de Villiers claimed that Gaddafi was persuaded by Iran to accept the blame, but that Iran was responsible for the bombing. In 2014 an Iranian ex-spy asserted that Iran ordered the attack. However Iran foreign ministry swiftly responded "not only on this case but on all terrorist-related issues - is quite clear: Iran flatly denies (links) to any act of terror"
July 1989: Dr. Abdolrahman Ghassemlou, Abdollah Ghaeri-Azar, and Fazil Rassoul killed in Vienna
April 1990 Kazem Radjavi in Switzerland
July 18, 1991 A five-man hit squad led by Anis Naccache, a Lebanese national and self-described former member of the Palestinian resistance group Fatah, carries out an assassination attempt on Bakhtiar at his then residence, an apartment in the Parisian suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine.
September 1992: Sadegh Sharafkandi and three of his colleagues at the Mykonos restaurant in Berlin
the concept of killing opponents of the Tehran dictatorship in a restaurant recalls one of the most infamous Iranian assassination actions in the West: the Mykonos Restaurant massacre in Berlin, in 1992. Iranian and Lebanese terrorists shot to death an Iranian Kurdish leader, Sadegh Sharafkandi, with two of his colleagues and a translator. Swedish Social Democratic leader Ingvar Carlsson was supposed to attend the Sharafkandi group’s dinner with Pierre Schori, a former Swedish state secretary for foreign affairs. But the two Swedes and their colleague, Sweden’s then-prime minister Carl Bildt, were called back to their homeland because of economic problems. If Carlsson and Schori had joined the Kurds in the Mykonos Restaurant, they might very well have been killed in the assault. German authorities captured an Iranian controller in the Mykonos crime, Kazem Darabi, and one of the Lebanese, Abbas Hussein Rhayel, who fired single bullets into the head of each victim. The Germans stated that the murders were authorized by the elite “Special Affairs Committee” of the Iranian regime, composed of supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, then-president Rafsanjani, and two of their ministerial colleagues. Darabi and Rhayel, convicted of the Mykonos crime, were sentenced to life imprisonment in Germany but were released and deported to Iran in 2007. Two of their Lebanese accomplices received short sentences, and one was acquitted.

the assassination of Mohammad-hossein Naghdi, the representative of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) in Italy, on 16 March 1993. Mohammad-hossein Naghdi, who was charge d'affaires in Rome (the regime's highest-ranking diplomat in Italy), defected and joined the Resistance in March 1982 in protest at the executions, tortures and massacres by the regime. Later as the representative of the NCRI in Italy, he actively disclosed the mullahs' crimes and promoted the Resistance.
Following the assassination of Naghdi, the Iranian Resistance declared that the regime's embassy in Rome had been involved in coordinating this criminal operation.
In subsequent years, with the investigations by the Italian Police and the accounts of the eye-witnesses, it was determined that Abutalebi, who had been mullahs' Ambassador from 1988 to 1992, had been the architect and organizer of this assassination.
According to the investigation, at the time of the assassination of Naghdi, Abutalebi entered Italy using a pseudonym and forged documents to implement this crime. The police investigation, including accounts given by an informed witness, read: "Naghdi's murder should be considered a political one decided by Iranian government circles and in the framework of a general project to destroy the Resistance abroad

Uncovering the Hidden Truths of 9/11 Why we need to discuss more than just Saudi Arabia [Iran] By John R. Schindler • 04/18/16 New York Observer 9/11 Commission demonstrated little interest in Iranian ties to the Planes Operation.
That Iran had some sort of hand in the Planes Operation has long been suspected by many insiders. Contrary to what “terrorism experts” may say, Tehran was always willing to aid Sunni extremists like al-Qa’ida, while Osama bin Laden and his ilk were equally willing to accept secret help from the Shia they despise. Iranian intelligence has enjoyed a clandestine relationship with al-Qa’ida going back to the early 1990s, and U.S. intelligence has known of meetings between their leadership and top Tehran spies since 1996. As I exposed in my 2007 book Unholy Terror, it was this toxic secret brew of Saudi cash and Iranian know-how that enabled al-Qa’ida in the 1990s to transform from a regional terrorist group into a global movement and threat. The real road to 9/11 was paved by Riyadh’s moneymen and Tehran’s spies, who despite their mutual antipathy were both eager to help bin Laden and his movement in their jihad against the West. Despite these facts, the 9/11 Commission demonstrated little interest in Iranian ties to the Planes Operation. While admitting that several of the hijackers had transited Iran, and that Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, the notorious KSM, the jihadist entrepreneur who came up with the Planes Operation, had stashed his family in Iran for years, it went no further. Why Tehran would want to help Sunni radicals was left essentially unexplored. In particular, the 9/11 Commission punted on the obvious lines of inquiry that such information opened up to anyone with eyes wanting to see, lamely noting that the issue of Iran’s role “requires further investigation by the U.S. Government.”
July 11, 2003 Zahra "Ziba" Kazemi-Ahmadabadi (زهرا کاظمی احمدآبادی in Persian) (1948 – July 11, 2003) was an Iranian-Canadian freelance photographer, who was killed by Iranian officials following her arrest in Iran. Although Iranian authorities insist that her death was accidental and that she died of a stroke while being interrogated, Shahram Azam, a former military staff physician who used his purported knowledge of Kazemi's case for seeking asylum in Canada in 2004, has stated that he examined Kazemi's body and observed that Kazemi showed obvious signs of torture, including a skull fracture, broken nose, signs of rape and severe abdominal bruising.

According to the Associated Press, the FBI joined the case because Taheri-azar, a native of Iran, “allegedly made statements that he acted to avenge the American treatment of Muslims. The ongoing investigation will work to confirm this,” said Special Agent Richard Kolko, an FBI spokesman inWashington. via The News and Observer This has created a stir in the blogosphere as many wonder if this is an isolated instance or a potential part of a terroristic plot. The Simi Valley Sophist is reminded of a postal worker going postal. He pled guilty to nine counts of attempted first-degree murder, and in 2008 was sentenced to 33 years in prison, on two counts of attempted murder. In one letter, Taheri-azar wrote, "I was aiming to follow in the footsteps of one of my role models, Mohamed Atta, one of the 9/11 hijackers, who obtained a doctorate degree."
Mohammed Reza Sadeqinia Iranian Assassination Plot 2009 Iran hired Mohammed Reza Sadeqinia, AKA Sadeghnia, an unemployeed painter and longtime resident of Ann Arbor, Michigan to kill a London-based Voice of America commentator, Ali Reza Nourizadeh and a Los Angeles-based radio host Jamshid Sharmahd, for the opposition group Tondar' who lived in nearby Glendora, California, for calling for the overthrow of the Iranian government. Cables obtained by WikiLeaks confirmed an unidentified Iranian man got cold feet and turned himself in to Glendora police, and was arrested near the Los Angeles airport.
