1 killed Feb 1, 2012 Lane College Shooting Jackson Tennessee On the campus of historically black Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, a man later identified as Justin Clark was shot in a parking lot at 6 p.m. and later later died. The suspect Jeremy Jones, 20, of Jackson turned himself in. Jones. His cover story was that there was a fistfight with students when there were two shots and he realized he had shot his friend by accident (yeah, right) investigation showed that in response to the fight, Jones pulled out a gun and "unintentionally" shot and killed Clark. Jones' got a six-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter which is consecutive to a seven-year sentence for various other incidents including shooting a car with for people, and at a store nearly hitting an employee in August 2012. On August 7, 2013 Jeremy Jones pleaded guilty in the 2012 shooting death. When he was indicted on the charges from the homicide, Jones was already in custody for unrelated "unrelated" charges for incidents that occurred in August 2012. (or were a related part of a terror spree?) On August 11, Jones provided a rifle that was used to shoot at a car with four people, and arrested after an August 14 police chase. After he was let out 2 days later, he shot at a man on August 22, missing, missed but nearly hit an employee at a nearby store building. On August 26, he was patted down found with a 357 handgun pistol inside Jones' belt line, charged with possession of a firearm and he was additionally charged with reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and vandalism for the August 22 shooting.

On Aug. 11, 2012, Jones handed Devin Long a gun, and Long shot at a car occupied by four people near 216 Roosevelt Parkway. Police issued an arrest warrant for Jones for four counts of aggravated assault, police said. On Aug. 14, Jones was apprehended after being chased by police in Lincoln Courts. He was additionally charged with evading arrest. Jones posted a $10,000 bond and was released from jail two days later.
Police said on Aug. 22, 2012, Jones shot at a man at the Villages Apartments, located at 550 Old Hickory Blvd, the release said. The man was not struck but a bullet traveled across Old Hickory and penetrated the window at Dawn's Fabrics, located at 621 Old Hickory Blvd. An employee was nearly struck. Jones had left the scene when police arrived and the man who Jones shot at was uncooperative with officers.
Around 4 a.m. on Aug. 26, 2012 Jones was stopped by Jackson Police Officer Christian Boxley on the parking lot of IHOP, located at 9 Stonebridge Blvd., after Boxley noticed him walking with a limp and suspiciously holding his hip area. Police said for his safety, Boxley patted Jones down and found a .357 handgun pistol inside Jones' belt line.
Police said Jones was charged with possession of a firearm and he was additionally charged with reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and vandalism for the August 22 shooting.
