Clayton County officer shoots man on I-75

Posted: Oct 24, 2013 6:59 AM CDTClayton County police officer was on his way to work Thursday morning when he noticed a man near a car that was parked along the interstate.
The officer said the man looked suspicious so he pulled over. While the officer was talking to the man, police said the man became combative and started fighting with the officer.During the fight, police said the man tried to grab the officers gun, but the officer beat him to it and shot the man.

Police said the suspect rode a motorcycle to the area and parked it across Boulder from the first officer. Police noted three handguns were found on the suspect as well as a rifle found on his bike.

DURHAM, NC (AP) -
Police at North Carolina Central University in Durham say a gunman has been shot and killed near the southeast part of the campus.
Durham police had tracked a suspect thought to be armed onto the campus late Monday, prompting officials to lock down the school about 10:15 p.m.
Police say the man was found in some woods shortly before midnight. Campus Police Chief Tim Bellamy said the man challenged officers with a gun and they fired.

Authorities have identified a gunman who was shot and killed on the campus of North Carolina Central University late Monday.
Police say Tracy Bost of Charlotte fired a shotgun at officers after they confronted him on the university's campus.
Durham police had been looking for a suspected robber who matched the man's description.
The school was placed on lockdown for about three hours.
Bost was not a student at NCCU, according to a news release from the school. But, the man has an extensive criminal record for several crimes, including theft of firearms and B&E of vehicles. He was released from prison in January.
