1 killed 3 injured September 12, 2013 Bellevue, Washington: At 10 p.m. 911 was getting calls of an Audi with his wife weaving through traffic at up to 150 miles per hour. The driver Samuel C. Sampson told police he was "bored I guess" and high on meth when slammed into the rear of a BMW which swerved and rolled over several times before bursting into flames, trapping and killing the driver. He had fought with his wife who followed him into the car, and he had tried to push her out of the car onto the freeway. Two other vehicles were hit, injuring three, and blocking all lanes of I 405 for hours. The Audi driver, an unemployed computer programmer was charged with vehicular homicide. Authorities believe he may have been trying to kill himself and his wife as he swerved through traffic at speeds of more than 120 m.p.h. according to documents from the King County Prosecutor’s Office. Wife told press Sampson was in a drug-induced psychosis, and even asked for help at a local hospital earlier in the day. "I'm pretty sure he wanted to die. He wanted to kill me,” said Sampson’s wife, 25-year-old Stacy Abele. He has no known criminal history, the charging documents state. Pleaded not guilty in sept 2013

Sampson never mentioned the argument to investigators but he did tell them he and Beckford were racing. He estimated his speed at 150mph when he lost control and crashed into Beckford's BMW, which exploded into flames with Beckford trapped inside. Three others were injured in separate cars.
