March 11, 2013 At the Fort Pitt Inn, North Fayette Township bar, Investigators believe David Mazzocco, 26 was having relationship problems in a heated texting argument with a girlfriend on his phone. He evidently got upset, and walked out to his truck bring back three handguns from his truck and opened fire when he walked back in. Two men were struck in the neck. James Adams from Imperial was killed and one was in critical condition. Jerry Maroni, a retiree with a bad hard was shot in the arm while succesfully tackling the gunman. He and nine others inside the bar held the gunman down until police arrived. Mazzaco was charged with homicide, attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, 11 counts of reckless endangerment and weapons violations. Mazzoco was the father of two young twins who was living with his mother Gloria Mazzocco, 60. Gloria was also arrested and face gun charges as she held permits for two of the three handguns he used. A third gun was provided by a friend, but David was not allowed to have any guns. When asked, Mazzoco could not give any motive for the shooting. In November, his lawyer said that Adams threatened him and reached for something in his pocket before the defendant fired in self-defence, and the defendant had been using prescription medication that he had not been prescribed.
Nobody can figure out that a man with this many guns including an assault rifle in his truck shooting people for no motive = terrorist. The story has faded as a "local story". He appeared to be arguing with a girlfriend on this cellphone, but that's just a cover story. This looks a lot like the October 21 2013 Bally's shooting in Las Vegas where there was an argument then the gunman started shooting at the manager and then everybody.

CBS. The shooting happened around 12:45 a.m. Monday at the Fort Pitt Inn in the 7700-block of Steubenville Pike, a North Fayette Township bar.
A man in the bar was on his cell phone, possibly with a girlfriend, when he abruptly got up and walked out to his truck.
The man grabbed three guns from his truck, walked back into the bar and opened fire.
Two men were hit in the neck and head and one of them has died. The other was last listed in critical condition at the hospital.
A third man was shot in the arm while charging at the gunman. Despite being shot, the man was able to tackle the gunman. He and nine others inside the bar held the gunman down until police arrived.

shot James Adams in the head, killing him, and wounded another in the neck before Maroni -- who was also shot in the arm -- subdued the suspect.
“I heard a crack and I turned around and one guy hit the floor. Then the other guy hit the floor. There was blood coming out of his head and then he was pointing at me,” Maroni said. “I grabbed his wrist, punched him in the face and then he got me in the arm. When I got him down, I just took the gun off of him and started beating him in the head with it.”
Investigators said the shooting could have been a lot worse if it weren’t for Maroni and the other man who tackled and disarmed Mazzocco.
“I was just thinking, ‘This isn’t good. It’s do or die time,’” Maroni said. “In that situation, you know you have to do something or he’s going to kill everybody.”
This one has a motive. (cover story? who is the girl? Was there even a girl?) Like Nahn Lap Tran, it is random mass shooting with multiple guns, and he had not obvious motive (terrorism is always an obvious motive). The mother of the Imperial man who police said shot three people, one fatally, in a North Fayette bar Monday morning has been arrested after investigators concluded she provided her son with guns.
Gloria Mazzocco, 60, was arrested at her house today, according to an Allegheny County police homicide unit press release.

A man with at least four weapons - including a military-style M4 assault rifle - is in police custody after he allegedly killed at least one while shooting up a bar in North Fayette, Pennsylvania.
Allegheny County police said that the shooter may have been talking on the phone to his girlfriend at the Fort Pitt Inn before briefly leaving. He later returned to the bar with three weapons and opened fire, according to KDKA.
The station reported that one of the two men who were shot in the neck and head died from his injuries. The other man was at a local hospital in critical condition.
WPXI reported that the dead man had been killed with the M4 assault rifle, while other reports suggested that police found the rifle in the suspect’s vehicle after the shooting.
A third man tackled the shooter after being shot in the arm. Bar customers restrained the suspect until police arrived on the scene. In video broadcast by KDKA, the man appeared to be wearing only underwear and had a bloody bandage on his head, presumably the result of a beating at the hands of bar patrons.
After being treated for his injuries, the suspect was taken to the Allegheny County Police Department for questioning. His name had not been released. Raw Story

The mother of the Imperial man who police said shot three people, one fatally, in a North Fayette bar Monday morning has been arrested after investigators concluded she provided her son with guns.
Gloria Mazzocco, 60, was arrested at her house today, according to an Allegheny County police homicide unit press release.
David Mazzocco, 25, was not allowed to own firearms and his mother held permits for two of the three handguns he brought into the Fort Pitt Inn when he started shooting, police said.
Police said Mr. Mazzocco, the father of young twin girls, shot two people in the head just before 12:45 a.m. Monday: James Adams, 29, who died at a hospital, and Joseph Quirk, who was in critical condition after the shooting but suffered no brain damage.
Mr. Mazzocco had been fighting with a girlfriend via text shortly before he left the bar and returned with three handguns, police said.
He shot one other man, Gerald Maroni, in the arm as he tried to disarm Mr. Mazzocco, holding him down with the help of another man while officers were en route, police said.

James Adams was a regular at the Fort Pitt Inn in North Fayette, where he worked some nights as a karaoke DJ. But on Sunday night, he was there checking up on a friend, a bar employee who had recently lost a loved one.
Shortly before 12:45 a.m. Monday, a man inside the bar walked out and returned with three handguns. He began firing, police said, injuring two men and fatally shooting Mr. Adams, 29, in the head.
"He was my only son," said his father, Edward Adams of Clinton, his voice breaking. "I'm going to miss him terribly."

Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Schurman said 25-year-old David Mazzocco of Imperial started shooting in the Steubenville Pike bar, shortly after a heated text-message exchange with his girlfriend.
Mr. Mazzocco's night began with dinner at a friend's place, where a witness told police he was showing the guns to guests there, according to a police criminal complaint.
At the end of the evening, the witness said Mr. Mazzocco put four guns -- three handguns and an AR-15 assault-style rifle -- in his truck. Police said Mr. Mazzocco told them he dropped off his girlfriend at her house after dinner, then headed, alone, to the Fort Pitt Inn, police wrote in the complaint.the other he borrowed from a friend. Mr. Mazzocco lived with his mother, Gloria, in Imperial.

He returned with three handguns, ordering two friends in the bar to get out. They hesitated, and Mr. Mazzocco pointed a gun at one of them before they left, Lt. Schurman said.

Bar customer Gerald Maroni fought back, disarming Mr. Mazzocco, who shot him in an arm. He and another customer, Juan Rodriguez, held Mr. Mazzocco on the ground for officers, county police said.
Lt. Schurman praised their efforts, calling both men courageous.
