Khalid Ouazzani from Kansas City Sentenced For Aiding Al Qaida

October 7, 2013 Khalid Ouazzani from Kansas City who swore allegiance to al-Qaida and sent money to the global terrorist organization was sentenced Monday to 14 years in federal prison. A naturalized U.S. citizen from Morocco, he had admitted in May 2010 that he had funneled $23,500 to al-Qaida after swearing an oath of allegiance to the organization in June 2008. Another defendant Sabirhan Hasanoff, a Brooklyn accountant, was sentenced to 18 years in prison, while Wesam El-Hanafi, a Brooklyn information technology security specialist was awaiting his sentence.
