1 DC security breach April 15, 2015 Mailman Doug Hughes Lands Gyrocopter on Capitol Lawn A postal delivery man Dough Hughes from Florida was arrested after he made an unauthorized landing of a small gyrocopter with postal service markings on the Capitol West Front Lawn. He had told a newspaper that a terrorist would not state his intentions and planned a non-violent protest flight.

He killed himself and the driver of a car he hit head-on in August 2012 by driving on the wrong side of the road after a fight with his girlfriend. The son was driving a black Hyundai Elantra west in the eastbound lanes of S.R. 408 at about 3:55 a.m, exploded in flames incinerating the driver beyond recognition, killing the other driver and forcing another Jeep into the guardrail.
