  1. Women Who Had Been Shot Found After Man Shooting At Propane Tank was shot August 16, 2013 In Denver police shot a man who was shooting at an improvised explosive device made with a propane tank. He was suspected of shooting a woman found in a nearby home and another woman who was wounded.
  2. 1 killed 3 arrested August 16, 2013 Australian Baseball Player Killed In Random shooting By 2 Black Youths in Duncan Oklahoma, Chris Lane, a baseball player visiting as a student from Australia was shot while jogging in an upper income neighborhood. He was spotted and followed by 1 white and 2 black youths associated with the Crips gang in a car and Luna shot and killed him in the back with a .22 caliber revolver. Police found them hiding after a parent complained that they had threatened his son. Their stated motive was they they were bored and had nothing better to do. April 2015, Chancey Allen Luna, now 17, faces a maximum sentence of life without parole. Michael DeWayne Jones, 19, was the driver of the car and pleaded guilty to second-degree murder as part of a plea bargain.  Australian native and East Central University (Oklahoma) Tigers senior baseball player Christopher Lane, 22, is shot and killed in Ada, Oklahoma, while jogging during a visit to his girlfriend. Two teenagers, James Francis Edwards, Jr., 15, and Chancey Allen Luna, 16, were then arrested and charged with first-degree murder with no bail; Michael Dewayne Jones, 17, was charged with being an accessory to murder after the fact. They stated they did it purely out of boredom. (NBC)

It was in Narathiwat, one of the provinces in Thailand's Muslim-majority south. 5,700 people have been killed since the insurgency broke out in  2004.
