The 33-year-old died on the scene, and her daughter was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police arrested Ramiro Pedemonte, 19. Student was charged with first degree vehicular homicide, serious injury by vehicle and reckless driving. Pedemonte and his 18-year-old passenger are both Lakeside High School students. The initial report indicated that O’Brien was speeding and failed to yield. Witness: “They were bearing down on that car,” she said. “Right before they were about to jump over it, they swerved into our lane and shot up in that lane.
