- August 12, 2014 NEW YORK Two German artists have claimed responsibility for the mysterious white flags that appeared overnight on the Brooklyn Bridge last month. Mischa Leinkauf and Mattias Wermke said Tuesday they posted the flags on the landmark in celebration of public art. The artists say July 22 marked the 145th anniversary of German-born bridge architect John August Roebling's death.

- August 12, 2014 Longtime Lakeville family man arrested in 1980s Texas killing A 53-year-old Lakeville husband and father who has lived in the Twin Cities for a quarter-century or more was arrested and jailed on suspicion of fatally stabbing a man in a Texas hotel more than 30 years ago. Police arrested Robert A. Otteson shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday. Otteson is employed and studying at Capella University and has previously attended Dakota County Technical College. Otteson is accused of killing businessman Francisco Narvaez in 1983 in a Denton Texas hotel room.

- August 12, 2014 Son of assistant US attorney destroys Chattanooga TN classrooms Aaron Roden, 22, was arrested on Tuesday morning after police say he went on a rampage, shattering windows in 15 classrooms, breaking ceiling tiles and even crushing toilets in some of the bathrooms at Westview Elementary School, forcing school closure. Roden is charged with two counts of assault on a police officer and is the son of Michael Roden, an assistant U.S. attorney who works at the U.S. Attorney's Office in Nashville.
