Burglars ransack church, cause $20K in water damage Jan 22, 2014 - Brazen burglars broke into a Jacksonville Garden of Christ Ministries church in Florida and stole several church items were stolen including a camcorder, a $1,500 keyboard, guitars,.. A pipe cutter that was left by the suspect on a 2-inch copper pipe in the ceiling. The copper pipe is a water line for the business building. According to the report, it appears the suspect cut a hole in the copper water pipe, causing a water leak that flooded the business building suites. It also appears the suspect left through the front door and that the suspect was trying to steal the exterior air conditioning units. "It seems like the maliciousness that went along with the burglaries that really caused my heart to hurt," ...burglars stole copper wiring and that the broken water main sent at least an inch of water cascading through the building. April 6, 2014 12:00AM Copper cutter caught: A 35-year-old Falls man was found carrying a duffel bag containing copper piping and a water meter at 5:19 a.m. March 30. Tthe man had pried his way through two locked doors into the vacant house between midnight March 25 and 5:19 a.m. March 30 and used a pipe cutter to remove the copper pipes and water meter. The property manager verified the pipes and meter were missing from the basement. The man was arrested and charged with burglary, breaking and entering, felony vandalism and possession of criminal tools. He was transported by police to the Summit County Jail. Another copper caper: The owner of a vacant house in the 400 block of Keenan Avenue reported someone at some point, entered through the rear door, went into the basement and cut out an estimated $40 worth of copper pipe. There was no damage to the door.
