  3. independent  PATRICK COCKBURN Sunday 13 July 2014 Iraq crisis: How Saudi Arabia helped Isis take over the north of the country A speech by an ex-MI6 boss hints at a plan going back over a decade. In some areas, being Shia is akin to being a Jew in Nazi Germany Saudi policy towards al-Qa'ida type jihadis as a mortal threat to the Kingdom...  In the event, Saudi Arabia adopted [ dual] policies, encouraging the jihadis as a useful tool of Saudi anti-Shia influence abroad but suppressing them at home as a threat to the status quo. It is this dual policy that has fallen apart over the last year... Saudi Arabia playing an important role... by supporting the anti-Shia jihad in Iraq and Syria. Since the capture of Mosul... Shia women and children have been killed in villages south of Kirkuk, and Shia air force cadets machine-gunned and buried in mass graves near Tikrit... In Mosul, Shia shrines and mosques have been blown up, and in the nearby Shia Turkoman city of Tal Afar 4,000 houses have been taken over by Isis fighters as "spoils of war". Simply to be identified as Shia or a related sect, such as the Alawites, in Sunni rebel-held parts of Iraq and Syria today, has become as dangerous as being a Jew was in Nazi-controlled parts of Europe in 1940... then US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wrote in December 2009 in a cable released by Wikileaks that "Saudi Arabia remains a critical financial support base for al-Qa'ida, the Taliban, LeT [Lashkar-e-Taiba in Pakistan] and other terrorist groups." ... What destabilised Iraq from 2011 on was the revolt of the Sunni in Syria and the takeover of that revolt by jihadis, who were often sponsored by donors in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates... The rise of Isis is bad news for the Shia of Iraq but it is worse news for the Sunni whose leadership has been ceded to a pathologically bloodthirsty and intolerant movement, a sort of Islamic Khmer Rouge, which has no aim but war without end.
  4. barbwire  Evidence Mounting That Turkey Is Behind ISIS Recruitment To Establish An Islamic Caliphate Demonstrations denouncing Erdogan after Turkish citizens captured ISIS operatives in Turkey in which Turkish security forces released the terrorists and attacked the civilians who turned them in...Turkey Erdogan’s support of the ISIS is easy to explain, even though the ISIS declared a caliphate in southern Turkey... needs the ISIS to dismantle nationalistic governments then to later consume them to create its Sunni Axis and its Ottoman dream....declare itself as the supreme Caliphate taking all under its neo-Ottoman umbrella which will also include an alliance with Iran... ISIS to dismantle the Levant while using wealthy Arabs who support ISIS to aid the Caliphate cause while using the very ISIS to even turn on the Arabs themselves. Turkey then will execute a double-whammy plan using its non-Wahhabist Sufi version of Islam that is neutral towards Shiite Iran, to unite both Sunni and Shiite forces to finally bring about peace amongst Muslims in the region and by this self-fulfilling the Islamic view that a Mahdi will come and bring 7 years of peace after 7 years of turmoil. Turkey and Iran are steeped in their hatred not only towards Israel, but also Saudi Arabia, which brought such divide between Sunni and Shiites.
  5. Half of illegal surge "children" are males 15-17  illegals began streaming in following the creation of DACA.  In practical terms, DACA allows pretty much any illegal alien approximately 30 years of age or younger to stay in the U.S. indefinitely. An Inspections and Customs Enforcement (ICE) document leaked to the press revealed a dramatic acceleration in the number of unaccompanied children coming from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, a part of Central America also called the “Northern Triangle.” In 2011, ICE apprehended a total of 4,321 UAC from these countries. By 2013, that number had increased to 21,314. For 2014, the report projected 53,375 UACs crossing the border and 95,500 in 2015. Some estimates are much higher. Fewer than 30 percent of these “children” are between 10 and 14 years old. Half are males from 15 to 17 years old. Many are gang members, including the notorious MS-13. Ninety-eight percent are released from custody with a “notice to appear” in court for deportation hearings. They rarely do. In 2013, only 0.1 percent were returned to their home countries.
  6. August 14, 2014 PressTV: Wayne Madsen Calls For Israel Arms Embargo The United States cannot trust Israel in any “military or intelligence relationships” and should impose a “total arms embargo” against the Zionist regime, says anti-American commentator Wayne Madsen. White House has instructed the Pentagon and the US military to put on hold a transfer of Hellfire missiles to Israel. Madsen supported the decision by the administration and called for a total embargo on Israel. “We should put a total arms and ammunitions embargo on Israel and also apply other sanctions,” he said.
  7. Obama Blocks Israel Missile Shipment - Breitbart The U.S. decision to tighten arms transfers to Israel comes as the UK threatens similar actions that President Barack Obama's administration blocked a shipment of missiles to Israel in late July and tightened additional weapons shipment procedures to Israel, revealing increasing tensions between the two governments. The UK threatens similar actions as the British government announced the suspension of 12 arms export licenses to Israel if fighting resumed in Gaza.
  8. Wall Street Journal reveals White House and State Department officials who were leading U.S. efforts to rein in Israel's military campaign in the Gaza Strip were caught off guard last month when they learned that the Israeli military had been quietly securing supplies of ammunition from the Pentagon without their approval...  Pentagon's Defense Security Cooperation Agency, or DSCA, was about to release an initial batch of the Hellfires, according to Israeli and congressional officials. It was immediately put on hold by the Pentagon, and top officials at the White House instructed the DSCA, the U.S. military's European Command and other agencies to consult with policy makers at the White House and the State Department before approving any additional requests... The Palestinians, in particular, were angry... "The U.S. is a partner in this crime," Jibril Rajoub, a leader in Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Western-backed Fatah party, said of the decision to provide arms to Israel during the conflict.
