- 2 killed 10 injured Saturday August 23, 2014 Two women dead after elderly driver turns and crashes into Michigan parade float LAPEER, MI (WNEM) - Jeanette Rumptz, 80 stopped at the stop sign and turned left into the path of a parade float on its way to a parade, which hit the car, and Rumptz was pronounced dead at the scene. There were 10 passengers of the float which had benches who sustained injuries. Seven people were ejected from the back of the float, and one woman later died.
