  1.  August 16, 2014 Ferguson Protesters Storm Robbed Store Anger spurred by the death of a black teenager at the hands of white police officer boiled over again early Saturday morning in Ferguson, Missouri, when protesters stormed into and looted the same convenience store that Michael Brown was accused of robbing. As the crowd threw rocks and objects at the police and one officer was hurt, police backed off to try and ease the tension. No arrests were made. Police found evidence of the stolen merchandise on Brown's body.

  10. 1 student athlete killed 2 injured August 16, 2014  Chaffey College Football Player Killed in Shooting on 60 Freeway KTLA Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga  freshman football player was shot and killed over the weekend. The shooting took place on the 60 Freeway when someone fired into a vehicle with five people inside. One person struck by the gunfire was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were taken to a hospital for treatment. The victim was identified by friends as 20-year-old Sheldon Martin, a football player Chaffey College Football Player Killed in Shooting on 60 Freeway  Investigators believe Martin and four friends may have been involved in a dispute at a restaurant in Riverside prior to the shooting
  11. 2 killed August 16, 2014 August 15-16 2014 Authorities ID Victims In Minneapolis Shooting, Stabbing  MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Authorities have identified two victims who were killed after a violent night to start the weekend in Minneapolis.  stabbing at about 2:20 a.m. Saturday on Franklin Avenue between 4th and 5th Avenues South.  When officers arrived, a woman had been stabbed and was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she died a short time later.Authorities identified the victim as 46-year-old Nanette Marie Haghi. She died  of a stab wound to the chest.

The woman plans to contest the $686 citation she received after the Saturday incident. Madison Wisconsin police cited Amanda Hall, 24, of San Luis Obispo, for harassment of zoo animals after officials said she crossed a barrier to get near the pen of a 2-year-old giraffe.

  16. 1 injured August 16, 2014  Teenager shot near Spanaway McDonald’s A 17-year-old was shot in both arms Saturday night near the Spanaway McDonald’s. A McDonald’s employee and her co-workers were rushed into the freezer for safety moments after the shooting. She said she was "scared to death."

August 16, 2014  4 injured, 1 critical Two train stabbings in NY City  Four people were injured in two separate subway slashings Saturday At Grand Central Terminal as a drunk man 38-year-old suspect Ivan DeLeon stabbed 3 that he warned to get out of his way, but he told authorities it was in self-defense as he as "viciously attacked". 14 hours later a man was slashed with a box cutter after getting into an argument with two other men. The assaults did not appear to be related

August 16, 2014 Girl, 3, killed in shootout between man, police In Maryland, Frederick Roy Miller shot and and critically wounding two people in Camp Springs who were the maternal grandfather and great-grandmother of his 3 year old daughter he had in the car. He led police on a chase and shootout and six officers returned fire, killing him. Police found the girl in the car who died later that day, and determined that the father had stabbed and shot her. Miller was a technician at Verizon and was a rapper on the side. Miller's relatives say he suffered head trauma and spent 9 days in a coma after a car crash several years ago, as was upset that his daughter was taken away and he couldn't have contact with her.

Oh Sook-mi, 56, died of a gunshot to her chest... One of the robbers told Oh Eun-jung and Oh-Sook-mi, the market owner’s sister-in-law, to open the cash register. They were having late dinner inside the market. When they could not get it open, the robbers began shooting, police said.  ..this is the first time a Korean has been shot and killed in this area
