September 14, 2013 Jonathan Ferrell Unarmed Football Athlete Shot When He Charges Police in Charlotte NC A police officer was charged with violating manslaughter laws in shooting an unarmed man who had survived a car accident. Jonathan Ferrell, a 24-year-old former Florida A & M University football player crashed his car into the woods in Charlotte North Carolina, and then walked to the nearest house where he banged on the door furiously. The woman thought he was a burglar and called the police at 2:30 a.m. Ferrell charged at the 3 police who arrived, and after a taser proved ineffective, officer Randall Kerrick shot Ferrell several times. Though initially ruled appropriate and lawful self-defense, a subsequent investigation concluded that Kerrick had violated manslaughter laws, and the officer turned himself in. It is being presented as a case of a man seeking help being misunderstood and shot because he was black, not because he was acting like a terrorist high on drugs.

Police Shoot Bystanders in Times Square Standoff
September 15, 2013 Two police officers fired shots at an agitated man who appeared to be throwing himself in the path of traffic in Times Square at night and then reaching into his pocket appearing to shoot at officers. Two women who were bystanders were wounded in the crossfire. This was another shooting of an unarmed man after a man was shot in North Carolina after he lunged at officers who shot after they could not subdue him.
Alternative theory: An alternate explanation was that a man was instructed to stage a crash, bash on a door like a madman, and rush multiple cops after being tased in order to force the cops to shoot him to create headlines manslaughter by amok police. Suicide by cop? Looks like terrorist attack staged to create fatal standoff with police, and outrage over police shooting an unarmed man.Police Shoot Bystanders in Times Square Standoff

Police officer charged in fatal shooting of unarmed man who had just survived car accident
A North Carolina police officer was charged with voluntary manslaughter on Saturday after police say he fatally shot an unarmed man who had apparently just survived a car crash in Charlotte and was looking for help.
The victim, Jonathan Ferrell, a 24-year-old former Florida A&M University football player, was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene early Saturday morning.
The 27-year-old officer, Randall Kerrick, turned himself in to police late Saturday. He was released on a $50,000 bond.
...Kerrick and two other responding officers surrounded Ferrell, who “immediately charged” at the police, Monroe said. One officer tried unsuccessfully to subdue Ferrell with a taser. Kerrick then fired his weapon "several times."
“He immediately charged toward the three officers, one in particular," Monroe said. "That officer in particular fired his weapon several times, striking the individual multiple times."
...a subsequent investigation found the officer, who joined the Police Department in 2011, had "violated the law regarding voluntary manslaughter."..using "excessive force" in exercising "imperfect self-defense," the paper said.
