St. Paul man gets life in prison for reckless driving confrontation Jun 17, 2014 ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) A 19-year-old St. Paul man will spend life in prison without parole after fatally shooting a man who confronted him for driving too fast. Aloeng Vang has been found guilty of one count of first-degree murder and second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 50-year-old Jeffrey Elling, of St. Paul, who confronted Vang for driving recklessly through his neighborhood in September 2013.

Vang eventually admitted he shot Elling, saying "I should have just whooped his ass," and that he was angry following their altercation. Vang said his shots weren't supposed to hit Elling, but rather, he was just trying to frighten him... Vang admitted to relatives he was angry because he felt Elling disrespected him, but that reason is admittedly baffling to Elling's family.
