the driver of a city work truck apparently did not see him while patrolling the park. Firefighters had to rescue the Morataya -- who was lying down in the grass -- when the front right tire of the truck ran over his leg and chest. The truck then stopped and the Morataya's chest was trapped under the body of the pickup. Firefighters had to use wooden blocks and hydraulics to first lift the truck off Morataya's chest. Paramedics then gave treatment to Morataya and rushed him to the hospital.
Fire officials said they talked to the driver who they said was very distraught and shaken up about the accident.
The city admitted the worker was at fault.

r: Authorities say this is the third accident in a year involving a beach patrol employee in Volusia County
In May a sunbather's arm was run over and in June 2010 a Daytona woman suffered a fractured leg after being run over by a vehicle driven by a Beach Patrol officer.
Nine people have died in vehicle accidents on Volusia County beaches since 1983.
In accidents that did not involve Beach Patrol officers, two children have been killed by vehicles on Volusia County beaches since March 2010.
Four-year-old Ellie Bland died in Daytona Beach in March 2010 and the Aiden Patrick, 4, was killed in New Smyrna Beach in July 2010.
The county introduced new signs and pamphlets after those accidents.
