French Parliament Member Stabbed at Armistice Day Event November 11, 2013 In France, a member of the French parliament Bernard Reynes was stabbed 3 times in Chateaurenard. The attacker in Chateaurenard was about 30 and believed to be "mentally unbalanced". The two other people hurt in the attack, were an assistant mayor for education and a local councillor. 70 people were arrested when French President Francois Hollande was heckled at another event commemorating the armistice that ended World War I in France.

Typhoon Haiyan, which is believed to have left 10,000 people dead and 660,000 people displaced, relief efforts are struggling to reach the areas most affected by the storm. Aid organizations describe waiting days for flights to the Tacloban airport on the ravaged island of Leyte, but the airstrip is being used exclusively by the Philippines military  (Foreign Policy)

Former Utah Student Ryan Stone Beaten At Football Game Tailgating Lot November 9, 2013 A man in a group attacked a 21-year-old in the tailgating lot outside Saturday's University of Utah football game. After an argument flared, Stone was hit by one punch, then fell and hit his head on the pavement, sending him to the hospital in critical condition with skull fractures. At the school, KIRO 7 has also seen his son K. Wyking Garrett, who ran for mayor in 2009. They both are part of a group calling themselves AfricaTown.
In mid-August they occupied and barricaded the school, demanding the district let them use it for after school and summer programs for black students. The school district tried to work with the group to get them to leave.
However, on Friday a district spokeswoman said anyone at Horace Mann is trespassing and the district is working with police to remove them

2 Gonzaga Students Face Expulsion for Having Gun






Under Armour Headquarters False Gunman Lockdown November 10, 2013 Baltimore, Maryland: An anonymous 911 call about a gunman at Under Armour athletic clothing headquarters building resulted in a SWAT team being dispatched to lock down a section of South Baltimore. This follows a bomb threat hoax at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Police did not not connect the two events, but vowed to catch the hoax caller that tied down significant resources and inconvenienced people who were returning to their cars from games.

NYC Ice Rink Shooting  Saturday November 9, 2013 At the Bryant Park skating rink in Midtown Manhattana, New York City a gunman fired shots just after 11 p.m. which hit a 14-year-old boy in the back, Adonis Mera, and another 20-year-old unidentified man after he first demanded a man's coat, and returned with a gun in an apparent robbery attempt.
