China Long Range Hongzha-6K Can Hit US Military Bases

China Long Range Hongzha-6K Can Hit US Military Bases

The west is terrified of China's re-engined version of the old 1950's Russian TU-16 Badger, the Soviet answer to the Boeing B-47 medium bomber, America's first swept-wing jet bomber.

Neither the Chinese nor the Russians ever built an equal to the intercontinental B-52 bomber, though the Backjack is a decent interpretation of the supersonic B-1 Lancer. Rumors that China is working on a trans- or supersonic stealth bomber with the range of the B-2 and performance of the B-1B appear to be just dreams.

The United States says it is gravely concerned about China’s new Hongzha-6K bombers that can target previously unreachable US military bases in the Pacific, according to a new report

China’s new drone, which resembles the MQ-9 Reaper, can be armed with Hellfire missiles, bombs and other weapons.

“China has had ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile) capability since at least the early 70s.

    6. China has a bomber and cruise missile combination that can take out the American base on Guam and Hawaii, according to well-known Washington Times leaker Bill Gertz. He quotes the Oct. 8 draft of the forthcoming report by the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission.
    Y:
China’s military recently deployed an upgraded strategic bomber that will carry the military’s new long-range land attack cruise missile, capable of attacking Hawaii and Guam, according to a draft congressional report.
The Oct. 8 draft of the forthcoming report of the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission also reveals that China has developed a new armed drone nearly identical to U.S. military’s Reaper. The Chinese missile-firing drone likely was developed through Chinese cyber espionage against U.S. defense contractors.
The report highlights a rapidly modernizing Chinese military that includes large numbers of new weapons and new warfighting techniques, including attack capabilities in space and cyberspace.
“PLA modernization is on track to alter the security balance in Asia over the next five to 10 years, challenging decades of U.S. military preeminence,” the report concludes.
On the bomber, the People’s Liberation Army in June accepted the first of 15 new Hongzha-6K, or H-6K, bombers. The bomber is based on a late 1950s Soviet design but has an extended range. However, its long-range cruise missile is new.
The report said the H-6K, also known as “Zhan Shen” or God of War, “can carry China’s new long-range land-attack cruise missile (LACM).”

China last month disclosed for the first time video of the Changjian-10, or CJ-10, land-attack cruise missile carried by the new bomber. The H-6K carries up to six of the missiles.

2012 Russia’s former Rocket Forces chief of staff retired General Victor Yesin explicitly warned that some of Chinese ground and air launched DH-10 cruise missiles are nuclear armed.  China is very likely developing multiple new long-range bombers to succeed the H-6K,” Fisher said. The CJ-10 is based on the DH-10.
Chinese National Defense University military expert Ge Lide stated in a China state television interview Oct. 18 that the CJ-10 is “China’s first sophisticated and cutting-edge precision weapon system capable of long-range precision strikes.”

uses China’s Beidou satellite navigation system for guidance and has a range of up to 1,500 miles.
China can strike targets in all coastal waters within an area known as the “first-island chain,” a string of islands close to China’s eastern and southern coast, with the bomber-cruise missile combination

PLA is also building a new long-range bomber with a range of up to 7,500 miles. (B-52 / b-2 class)

the new bomber is capable of hitting targets throughout the western and central Pacific, including Hawaii. Other potential targets include Singapore, central India and Russia.
According to Kanwa, the upgraded jet is powered by Russian jet engines that can increase its range up to 5,500 miles.

    HAHAHAHAHA

According to Russian media, China is developing a new generation of strategic bomber due to the breakthrough in the technology to reduce the size of high-temperature air-cooled nuclear reactor. The new type bomber will be nuclear powered with shocking advanced shape and weapons.
The bomber will be called H-11 bomber much superior to the existing medium-sized H-6K bomber.
China began development of strategic bombers in the 1970s, but lacked the technology. Through accumulation of technology for decades, it now is able to develop strategic bomber. However, it takes a long time to design and commission the bomber and make it combat effective.
The new nuclear strategic long-range bomber, codenamed “Light of Five Stars”, will enhance China’s nuclear deterrent to unprecedented high and enable China to have overwhelming air superiority. Its cruise speed will be Mach 3.6 and can remain flying at high speed for 3.5 months incessantly. It can carry 170 to 210 sets of nuclear bombs depending on the density and scale of its targets.

    Russia's subsonic bomber

Voice of Russian reported on July 16 that Russia would begin technical design of its new strategic bomber in 2014.
    Passages on Russian bomber omitted
It said that like US B-2, Russia’s bomber will be maximal subsonic with major characteristics of long range and small probability of being detected by radar. It is different from China’s future strategic bomber in this respect. China’s warplane will be supersonic. According to analysts, China has to pay a lot in implementing its plan for the warplane and the technology will be very complicated. A factor of special concern is that unlike the United States and Russia, China has no experience in that respect. In fact, if China wants to put such a project into mass production, it has to put in more resources than it has put in the projects of developing two fifth-generation fighter jets. Perhaps, it has to incur a cost exceeding its entire manned space program.

    2. The CJ-10 (simplified Chinese长剑-10traditional Chinese長劍-10pinyinCháng Jiàn 10) is a land attack cruise missile (LACM) currently in service with the Second Artillery Corps of thePeople's Republic of China. It is the first of the Changjian (literally "long sword") series of long range land attack cruise missiles.[5] The CJ-10 debuted during the October 1 military parade in 2009.[6]
Besides the land attack variant, a possible shore to ship variant has also been rumored to be in Chinese service. Many Taiwan and Hong Kong media sources believe that the weapon has been developed to counter the US Navy's Carrier battle groups, with the aim of a land based carrier destruction capability.[2][3][7]
The CJ-10A is an air-launched variant with a range of 2,000—2,200 km, intended to arm the Xian H-6K strategic nuclear bomber which can carry six of the missiles under its wings.[8]
    3. The YJ-62/CJ-10 missile family is based on China's earlier land-based Hongniao cruise missilefamily. The new design also incorporates elements of the Soviet Kh-55 cruise missiles. Moscow Defense Brief speculates that Ukraine may have had some role in the CJ-10 project. China may also have acquired several American Tomahawk missiles from Pakistan and Afghanistan, after the missiles were fired in a failed attack on the Al Qaeda in 1998. The knowledge from these missiles may have been used in the CJ-10/YJ-62 project.[8]
The CJ-10 family was developed from the DH-10 cruise missile.[9][10]

    H-6K[edit]

The H-6K, first flying on 5 January 2007,[4] entered service in October 2009 during the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China,[5] and is claimed to give China its first proper strategic bomber.[5][6] With a reinforced structure making use of composite materials,[6] enlarged engine inlets for Russian NPO Saturn D-30KP-2 turbofan engines giving a claimed combat radius of 3,500 kilometres (2,200 mi),[5] a glass cockpit with large size LCD multi-function display,[7] and a reworked nose section eliminating the glazed navigator's station in favour of a more powerful radar, the H-6K is a significantly more modern aircraft than earlier versions. The bomb bay has been replaced by extra fuel capacity, and six underwing pylons for CJ-10A cruise missiles are fitted. The rear 23mm guns and gunner position are replaced by electronic components.

In January 2009, it was reported that an indigenous turbofan engine, the WS-18, was under development for use in the H-6K.[8]

Chinese websites are again reporting that Russia has agreed to sell Beijing the production line for the Tupolev Tu-22M3 bomber at a cost of $1.5 billion.
Once in service with the Chinese Naval Air Forces the Tu-22M3 will be known as the “H-10″.
The deal struck with Russia includes 36 aircraft: a batch of 12 followed by a second batch of 24 additional bombers.

With the recent public exposure of the PLA's Xian H-6K turbofan powered Badger cruise missile carrier it is clear that the PLA is moving ahead with its planning for a strategic bomber fleet with more reach than the legacy H-6 Badger variants, under the auspices of the"Second Island Chain Strategy". Off the shelf candidates for this fleet include upgraded surplus Russian Air Force Tu-22M3 Backfire C and Tu-95MS Bear H aircraft, and new build Tu-160 Blackjacks, as well as the indigenous and smaller H-6K. In 2005 the Chief of Air Staff of the Russian Air Force observed, in relation to the Backfire and Bear, that surplus aircraft should be exported to China.
In terms of time to deployment and acquisition cost, the Backfire is strong contender in any  competitive flyoff between these types. To best appreciate the potential strategic impact of the Backfire upon this region APA will explore the capabilities and further growth potential of the aircraft in more detail.
