String of car fires put Los Angeles police on alert

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- A total of 19 apparent arsons which damaged carsparked in West Hollywood and Hollywood overnight Friday had put Los Angeles citypolice on tactical alert, with authorities calling for members of public to come forwardwith information leading to the arrest of the suspect or his/her accomplices. All the fires, four in West Hollywood and 15 in Hollywood, took place in west LosAngeles just after midnight, according to police.
