He and 200 other motorists phoned in erratic driving by a pack of motorcycles which soon surrounded his vehicle. Then Christopher Cruz maneuvered in front of the SUV and glanced back execute a "brake check" to Lien to slow to a stop. As the bikers spiked his tires, he was afraid and made decision to flee to protect his wife and child. As he stepped on the gas, his truck drove over one rider. Driving on his right front rims, he was chased 50 blocks across town, had his door pulled out at one stop, and was stopped in traffic when one of the bikers started to pound on the window next to the child, and another smashed the driver window with a helmet, pulled him out and beat him, as other bikers were trying to pull out his wife and daughter. Sergio Consuegra  intervened and told them to stop, placing himself between the beaten victim and himself. Lien was treated for stitches and treatment of injuries to his face. Christopher Cruz, 28 has been charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving and acting in a manner injurious to a child younger than 17. Friends and family of Jeremiah Mieses who was hospitalized began a media tour asking for "justice", and called the father "reckless" and a "maniac". Three police officers were in the pack, but chose not to intervene for various reasons.

The mainstream press never reported that the SUV driver is Asian or that nearly all the bikers were African American

That’s what happened to Alexian Lien, 33, and his wife and 2-year-old daughter last Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013. Colin Flaherty, author of the outstanding book on seldom-reported black-on-white crimes, White Girl Bleeds A Lot, reports for WND that on a Sunday afternoon in New York City, a mob of dozens of motorcycle riders chased, stopped and beat the father of a young Asian family.
But what the local newspapers did not report, however, is that the bikers are black, which is what the police report says. A

      • On Tuesday, Mieses’ family reacted to the news that Lien would face no charges.
“It’s not going to bring my son’s legs back because he won’t walk again,” said Santiago. “But justice has to be served with this gentleman who did this to my son.”

28-year-old Christopher Cruz can be seen in the video (and in the screenshot above) in a white t-shirt slowing down in the middle lane of the West Side Highway, right in front of the now-famous black Range Rover driven by 33-year-old Alexian Lien with his wife and two-year-old in the car. Cruz got hit by the Range Rover for this brake check and was later hospitalized and released for minor injuries, reports the New York PostThe police have since arrested Cruz and thrown the book at him, effectively marking him responsible for the half-hour chase that ended with Alexian Lien beaten and his car smashed. Police charged Cruz with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, endangering the welfare of a child, and menacing, reports the New York Post.

After watching the video repeatedly, and doing some more research, it seems like this is a common tactic. One of the bikers will instigate being clipped by a vehicle, and then they trap and threaten the occupants to pay them or they will f them up.
This was a mugging set-up and the SUV did the very best thing he could, DRIVE OVER THEM!
BTW, head over to the FB page of the biker who got run over, the comments are running 9-1 against him!! lol!! I bet they shut it down by tomorrow!

"When you look at the video, you can see he's running over something," said the biker's wife, Diana Mieses. "It's not just a motorcycle; it's a human being that was under there."
The family of biker Jay Mieses said he was seriously injured when the SUV plowed into several bikers.
"He got scared and peeled off and paralyzed my husband on the way," Mieses said.
Yolando Santiago, the injured biker's mother, said that all of her son's ribs are fractured and his lungs are so badly bruised that he is still on a ventilator.
"We believe he has two broken legs, and he's intubated, and he may be paralyzed," New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.
However, Kelly would not say whether the SUV driver was right or wrong in what he did.
"You have to look at the totality of the circumstances and that's what we're doing," said Kelly.
Whether the SUV driver ran over the bikers because he felt threatened is still to be determined, and the situation only escalated from that point.

Deborah Liu Los Angeles, CA. So many things bother me about this tragedy:

        1) California has lenient laws towards bikers, yet they still feel the need to break them and zoom through dead traffic at 80 miles an hour, scaring everyone. Earlier in the day of this particular incident, these idiot bikers were apparently terrorizing not only fellow drivers by driving in the opposite direction, but also people eating in sidewalk restaurants by driving up onto the curb. People were literally running inside the restaurants because they thought they were going to get ran over (oh the irony). In addition to this, this event wasn't even approved, and they failed to get a permit because half the riders were riding illegal street vehicles and the other half were probably unlicensed like our "poor victim."

        2) It makes me want to throw up when I think about how Asians rarely cause violent trouble for ANYONE yet are plagued by bullying and violent crime from other races. It makes me wonder if these thugs would have done the same thing (from trying to induce an accident to knifing Alexian's face in front of his wife and two year old daughter) had the family been a race without an "easy target" reputation. In addition to this, I'm appalled by the horrifying and barbaric actions of the thugs pulling the wife out by her arms while she is kicking and screaming and telling her she's "gonna get it next." WTF? It really scares me thinking about what those animals might have done to her had the good samaritans not intervened at that point.

        3) NYPD might actually be worse than LAPD. At least 5 off-duty cops just stood there and watched, not to mention this whole thing unfolded despite 200 calls to 911 (including 4 from the family). Complete crap. The one "undercover cop" wasn't even on duty at the time. Can't believe it took CIVILIANS to stop this madness. Where was law enforcement? Oh wait... riding with these sorry excuses for human beings.

        4) Gloria Allred is absolutely disgusting. I have no respect for her whatsoever (does anyone?) and think it's embarrassing how low she'd stoop to be in the limelight for five more minutes. The guy she's defending hasn't been able to legally drive for 14 years and has his license revoked until 2017, not to mention 6 pages of criminally charged behavior. His wife who just seems sooo sad in press conferences is just as much of a low-life druggie. I guarantee you they wouldn't be doing this if the Lien family wasn't rich (in which case, they probably wouldn't have been targets of this brake-check-insurance-fraud scheme in the first place). I'm not one to condone violence... but he should be happy he's alive because he (and many others) would not be had I been driving that car.

For the riders, it began after they learned about Hollywood's Block Party 2013, the informal title of Sunday's run. It was organized by Ozone Park's Jamie "Hollywood" Lao, according to people close to him, one of whom estimated that about 100 riders gathered outside Mr. Lao's house Sunday before setting out. Bikers say the event was celebratory, and not a horde turning dangerous tricks described by New York Police Department Commissioner Ray Kelly.

We know that the things we do aren't right as far as maybe running a red light or a stop sign or something like that, but we try to do so in the safest manner possible," said Justin Rios, who was riding in a cluster of bikers just ahead of the melee on the highway.
Still, police were ready. Hollywood's Block Party's organizers didn't obtain a permit and the rides get larger every year and more rambunctious,
fficers had been deployed to keep bikers out of the city's center, especially Times Square, to prevent a replay of 2012, when the Hollywood's Block Party riders largely shut the area down.
Throughout the city, police seized 55 motorcycles, issued 68 summonses, and made 15 arrests.
Mr. Rios said. Motorcyclists "took over" the road, Mr. Rios said,
to prevent car drivers from colliding with bikers.
a common formation that one biker who spoke to witnesses and gave her nickname, Chukii, described as a means of isolating and stopping motorists they feel are driving dangerously in order for the rest of the pack to pass. "We get hit all the time and then people take off," said Chukii, who organized an event for an injured biker.
Police say they believe the bikers planned to slow down and block traffic to get open terrain to race and perform stunts—which police say is a common occurrence during mass rides.
Around 125th Street, Christopher Cruz, a 28-year-old from Passaic, N.J. whose New Jersey driver's license has been suspended four times, records show, pulled in front of Mr. Lien's vehicle
A side view mirror was smashed, someone hit the vehicle, and the tires may have been slashed, police said.

"We were placed in grave danger by a mob of reckless and violent motorcyclists," Ms. Ng said in a statement issued by her lawyers. "We were faced with a life-threatening situation."

The video shows that Mr. Lien accelerated, allegedly striking three people and rolling over one motorcycle with his Range Rover's front right tire before heading up the highway. Biker Giancarolo Cardenas, a 32-year-old from Paterson, N.J, was hit and suffered a leg injury, officials said. And biker Edwin Mieses, a 32-year-old sound engineer from Lawrence, Mass.—who doesn't have a driver's license in his home state, but has been issued violations for driving, records show—was struck. His spine and ribs were cracked and he may be paralyzed, his wife said in interviews outside St. Luke-Roosevelt Hospital.

Is Meezee Family Trying to Profit from Comatose Wanna Be Rapper?

Many people think that the Mieses family is using this situation for financial gain. Although, they’ve only managed to raise chump change so far, they’re asking for more. We know they hired ambulance chaser lawyer Gloria Allred, but she must be in it for a bigger payday. Perhaps, hoping that suing Lien will bring in the dollars.
Why do they need this money? Aren’t they still collecting their unemployment checks? Don’t they have insurance? What do you think?

Note the time on this still frame, because when you watch the video, you can see Cruz take a swing at the door or the window of the SUV. (You may need to watch in full screen to see it.) Other bikers have surrounded the Range Rover. At least one tire has been slashed. Mieses is one of many in standing in front of the vehicle.
Feeling threatened and concerned about the safety of his family, Alexian Lien decides to flee the situation. Jay Mieses is run down and seriously wounded. He is not helping anyone, he is not offering aid to anyone, he is blocking Lien's SUV.
I hope these still frames make it a little easier to understand exactly what happened. There is a lot of misinformation out there, even by experienced journalists.

Jay Meezee is the biker who got hurt when a gang of bikers stopped a SUV and later attacked the driver after he fled the scene and rolled over one of the bikers. This incident can be seen here:

Umm ya i would have done the same thing

"The SUV driver pulled over after the biker was hit, and the motorcyclists surrounded his vehicle, hitting it and spiking the tires, police said. The driver pulled away, hitting three more bikers in the process, police said."

Not the first time this has happened

"As a trucker that would deliver in north jersey and New York I am familiar with these groups. I can hopefully clarify a few things. First the initial "accident" is part of a game they play. They ride in a huge group and will operate together to slow down traffic. Next they pick out high end vehicles targeting people with families in them, the targets will usually be white or Asian. Then one of the riders will do a "brake check" and stop suddenly in front of the target vehicle causing a minor bump. In some cases they will just roll back into their target vehicle. They will then mob the vehicle demanding money and or begin attacking the person inside. It is their practice to also slash the tires to prevent the vehicle from escaping. Truckers are well aware of them and are advised not to stop. You can clearly see in the video how they are well practiced in this style of attack. The police in NY have backed off them after an officer ran one down using his vehicle a few months back. The video was all over the net so I advise you to check it out. These "bikers" ride dirt bikes and sport bikes very few of which are street legal and even fewer have plates. They run red lights, stop signs, and have no regard for the law. If you are ever in this situation do not stop, immediately call the police and do whatever you have to to keep them from boxing you in. NEVER leave the scene of an accident if you are not under direct threat!!! Only run if you have no other choice, and again immediately call the police. This is not rare by any means, the only reason this incident got any attention is because of the helmet cam video being posted on the net. If you see anyone in this situation, call the police. Make no mistake confusing these punks with true bikers. You will rarely if ever see a member of these gangs on a Harley. Do not for a minute blame true bikers for this kind of behavior. Bikers like those involved in the 2 million Bikers to DC Rally are American Patriots and would be among the first to come to your aid. A final note, always be aware of motorcycles and share the road. Check your mirrors and don't ride anyone's bumper, motorcycles have a much smaller profile then a car and are harder to see. https://www.facebook...rAlexianLienNow"

so... slowing down means you should be hit, then when you are on the ground the driver should speed away?

Until today I was under the impression that running into someone from behind, regardless of circumstances, was the my fault.  Now all I have to do is say "they messed with me, I was scared, so I ran them over." Seems like a good plan.

Overreaction to the situation was apparent in all the parties.  If you are going to charge the bikers, you need to charge the Rover driver as well, it was the Rover who made the first escalation.  Up until the point of impact no laws were broken in regards to the Rover driver, he had no prior information on the group, and was not protecting himself from danger until he injured part of the group.  The bikers then took it way too far.

This story sucks and I wish it could have been avoided, but blame lies with all involved.

If this is true(read it in a yahoo forum :rolleyes_old: ), looks like Karma caught up with him

        Edwin E. Mieses, 26, of 17 Bernard Ave., Nov. 28, charged with operating a motor vehicle after license was revoked, illegal possession of a Class D narcotic, operating a motor vehicle with defective equipment and on five outstanding warrants;
Arrested Again in May, Since 1999, he has been ticketed by police 16 times, in Lawrence, Methuen, Roxbury, Andover, and New Hampshire, according to registry records.
In June, the Registry notified the National Driver Register that Mieses was a habitual traffic offender whose right to drive in Massachusetts was revoked until 2017, records show.

Jamey Little Mieses, wasn't eligible to have a drivers license until 2017!! You know why? Because he was an habitual repeat offender of "brake-checking" on whites and Asians that appeared to be wealthy, and then shaking them down or outright robbing them after rendering them helpless, by surrounding their vehicle, preventing them from flight of severe personal injury!!

I believe there are a few extra videos that were not posted inside of this link! Enjoy!

NYC motorcyclists chase down and assault driver after accident

Motorcyclists in NYC, involved in a collision with an SUV, chased down and assaulted the driver after he attempted to flee the scene of the initial accident.
Video footage posted online from a motorcycle rally known as the Hollywood Block Party -- which took place in NYC yesterday -- shows a gang of riders weaving amongst each other across all three lanes of a highway, before encircling the driver of a black Range Rover Sport. One motorcyclist then proceeds to swerve in front of the driver and brake check him -- deliberately braking so as to cause the driver to slow down. Unfortunately, the Range Rover failed to brake, and collided with the rear tire of the motorcycle.

The footage shows the rider carrying on, unharmed, but the Range Rover and other riders quickly stop on the highway. What follows is still unclear, but according to the Daily Mail, the driver reported to police that motorcyclists began to damage his vehicle after he had stopped. With a wife and 5-month old child in the back seat, the victim stated that he feared for his family's safety and attempted to flee the scene.
The Range Rover crashes over several bikes, before accelerating away from the scene. The bikers quickly give chase, following the SUV. Other reports state that at least one biker suffered a broken leg as the Range Rover fled from the gang, but police have stated that no injuries were reported.

For anyone taking the side of the bikers. Please understand something. These guys have a history of taking over a highway by blocking on ramps and stopping traffic while others in the group use the road to race. They didn't like that the SUV driver hadn't stayed back with the other cars, that's why the biker break checked him. When they didn't feel that he got the message they surrounded the truck, pounded on the windows and slashed at least one tire. This guy was protecting his family and tried to get out of there as fast as possible. I have no pity for the riders he drove over.

The drive of the SUV could have acted differently. But he was panicked trying to protect his family. And there's no driver training or laws that teach you how to handle a gang of bikers who cut you off, slam on their breaks, or attack your car. There are, however, laws for how to drive on the road (not sidewalks), driving recklessly, road rage, intimidation, speeding, assault, ect. - All that these bikers did illegally.

Official: Biker may have been trying to help SUV driver

No matter WHAT he was doing before the accident, you don't attack somebody who has stopped or pulled over for it. They're already scared of you, they're already panicking because of the accident. They had to escape. What did you want them to do? Sit there and get more frightened? I love bikes and have no problems with biker groups. But this is NOT normal behavior. It was a swarm. When you get stung by a bee, you walk home and deal with it. When you get stung by a bee and there are tons of bees around you, you run.
The defense of this is sickening, but it's not unusual. The same group behavior that caused this in the first place is trying to defend it. Like when a ton of the popular kids gang up on one kid in class, they all stick up for their friends. Who's going to believe one kid?
You DON'T brake check somebody on the highway.
You DON'T beat somebody's car and slash their tires after an accident.
You DON'T put the fear of somebody's life into them by acting aggressive. If the bikers were the bigger men to begin with on this, NONE OF THIS WOULD have happened
        .
        Sorry, bikers. YOU LOSE.

and technically it's not really an accident. The biker cut him off and slowed down to intimidate him. That's just deliberate assault.

            Deja Vu  jrs505050

One biker says: "If something happens, you stop right there. It's an accident. You think and stop. You don't keep reacting on." REALLY? You stop and let them murder you and rape your wife, like in many other instances of gang violence? They don't understand how normal people view things. If you slash his tires, what's going to happen when someone breaks his window? What's going to happen if someone drags them out of the car? What's going to happen when the wife's shirt gets ripped in the process? If you can cross a line and brake-check someone, it's not far-fetched to think you can cross many other lines, including murder and the rape of a child under 5 years old.

I am a 'biker' and the whole time I watched that video I was wondering why the SUV driver wasn't swerving and taking out as many bikes as possible. It was doomed to end badly so why not reduce the numbers. Inaction of this type indicated to me that the SUV driver didn't want to really hurt anyone but to protect himself and his family. Luckily for the bikers I wasn't driving the SUV. Yes, these bikers lose.

Right... it's like saying: "We were bullying him so that he cannot bully others"... and "we're justified to carry out our own justice without the need to wait for cops"... and "BTW, the cops were never on our sides... they always side with nice people with family in their cars, that's very bias"... these losers need to shake their heads up why so many people in NYC hate them.

Most respectful bikers will standby the SUV driver. Most bikers are respectful of the road even if they come in large numbers. These bikers are just throwing tandrums at things they aren't supposed to do... if they want real justice for their "knocked down" biker, they'd have called the cop and waited for the cops to decide.. instead of carrying out justice themselves, like damaging the car and attempting to open the door of the SUV. I can see from the video that the driver became erratic when the bikers tried to open his door... I would too.... who wouldn't? If a normal biker got knocked down by a car, his friend(s) would call the police and wait right there at the scene of accident. They would never carry out their own justice.

I have ridden in many group rides, some over a hundred bikes, but have never seen or participated in anything close to the mayhem that was this "ride". If they were riding in one lane, 2 columns, staggered (the safe way to conduct a multi-bike ride) this wouldn't have happened. The bikes swarmed all around this SUV leaving him no option but to continue driving in the midst of bikes. Then Cruz cuts him off and slows considerably in front of the SUV. Lien probably had his head on a swivel, petrified of the swarm, so he may not have been looking directly in front of him at the instant Cruz decelerated. All it takes is an instant of looking to the side and the bike slows a lot faster than a Range Rover could possibly slow. There was no brake check that I could see or maybe Lien would have been alerted by the brake light. The Law of Physics say's the SUV is going to hit the bike. BTW if you would like to see how much the Hollywood Stuntz like to ride like maniacs and terrorize motorists just Google them. Oh right, a lot of the sites they put video and blog on are dead ends now. I wonder why they pulled their videos and blogs? Got something to hide?
I would have done the exact same thing if that were me and my family in that SUV. Except, I probably would have shot the window smashing biker in the face once he broke the glass barrier between us and had access to my head with his helmet
Sorry Miesas is paralyzed, but if you live by the sword...

Looks like CNN is switching sides or at least hedging. I think that they see a compelling story here, poor bikers who come from tough backgrounds terrorized by wealthy people who drive SUV's. I see another Trayvon Martin setup.

The NYPD is investigating a case of road rage, caught on video ... which then bumped into the back tire of the motorcycle. The biker gang then surround the SUV…

        • Christopher Cruz, 28, has been charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving and acting in a manner injurious to a child younger than 17 after he and a group of other bikers forced a motorist out of his SUV and beat him. The assault on the 33-year-old man began around 1:30 p.m. Sunday on the West Side Highway after he got into an accident with one of the bikers around 125th Street. After the driver and motorcyclist pulled over, they were quickly surrounded by 20 to 30 bikers who began damaging the victim's Range Rover, police said. The driver, who was traveling with his wife and toddler, struck two other bikers while fleeing, police said. The other bikers gave chase, pursuing him for about 2 1/2 miles, and again surrounded the Range Rover at a red light. They pulled the man from the SUV and beat him, police said.
