9-year-old girl, 2 adults shot in Yonkers in no-motve, not-terrorism crowd mass shooting
A 9-year-old was shot in the chest Friday, one of three people wounded in a shooting near Palisade Avenue and Elm Street in Yonkers.
Yonkers shooting YONKERS – A 9-year-old girl was in critical condition Friday night after a shooting that also injured two adults at the corner of Palisade Avenue and Elm Street, officials said. The girl, whose identity was not released, was shot in the chest and taken by Empress Ambulance to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, officials said. Empress also took the other victims, a 28-year-old man and 31-year-old woman whose identities also were not released, to the medical center, officials said. The woman, who was shot in the arm, was treated and later released. shortly after 6 p.m., Police said the shooting started outside but that some victims were struck indoors after running into nearby businesses for cover. Kevin Johnson, 31, who works at his father's Mexican restaurant nearby on Elm Street, said he heard several shots ring out, frightening him and his patrons...The intersection is a heavily traveled area of the city and surrounding neighborhoods are densely settled....A baby stroller also appeared to have been abandoned during the chaos.

Police said the stabbing started after the two men came from a nearby bar, and the suspect, 29, became enraged for unknown reasons and stabbed the victim multiple times with a pocket knife
