- March 31, 2015 A massive power outage spreads across Turkey blacking out large parts of the country affecting air traffic control throughout airspace and stopping trams and subways in Istanbul. Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said all possible causes of the blackout were under investigation, including terrorism. Istanbul -- with more than 14 million inhabitants. Officials could neither confirm nor deny that a cyberattack had created the blackout, but Turkish Electricity Transmission Co. as blaming the outage on a problem with transmission lines. (CNN)
