Police investigate fatal shooting of man by '3 or 4 blacks' near hospital
ORLANDO, Fla. - A man was killed in a shooting Monday night near Orlando Regional Medical Center and Winnie Palmer Hospital. Alex Mazzan, 20, died in the shooting, which occurred while he was walking with another man near Sturtevant Street and Lucerne Terrace. According to police, a newer model, white, four-door Nissan with three or four men inside pulled up to the men and a verbal altercation broke out. Shots were fired from inside the vehicle toward the two men, striking Mazzan as he and the other man tried to hide between some parked cars, police said. The Nissan then fled the area. -Man visiting friend in hospital shot, killed by group of 3 or 4 black males
- "Some type of verbal altercation occurred when gunfire occurred from inside the vehicles at the white males," said Orlando Police Department Lt. Jim Young. "As he turned the corner, the white male that was not injured had dragged his friend out into the street and began pounding on the van to stop for assistance."
