(MLive.com Written by Brian Smith ) In two connected shootings, a Rite Aid employee was killed who was 35-year-old Michael Addo, of Mason, a pharmacist at the business. The second victim was 27-year-old Jordan Daniel Rogers, who was shot at his home on Coolidge Road by Ricard Taylor who lived at the home. Police are investigating the possible motive behind the shootings, but said neither shooting was a robbery attempt "for guns or drugs, or for money."

Bond was set at nearly half a million dollars for a 51-year-old man who was arrested after police found bomb making materials at a residence in North Charleston which prompted evacuations at nearby homes.

Because the fire occurred at the mine's shift change, the exact number of miners underground at the time is unknown; the number of trapped workers could be as high as 800.[1] At least 200 people have died as a result of the fire.[2] Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the number of those lost their lives has risen to 232.[3]

May 12, 2014 Mesa Officer Rammed Head-On by 30 Mile Wrong Way Driver Raul Silva Corona who was killed after he eluded police while driving his car for 30 miles in the wrong direction and killed an off-duty Mesa Police officer by ramming him head on. Investigators believed he could be impaired, and he had never been issued a driving licence. No motive has been offered for this suicide attack on a police officer and the public.
Mendoza, a 13-year Mesa police veteran, had completed a shift and was on his way home.
Silva Corona died in the accident as well, and investigators believe he could have been impaired.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office did not release results of Silva Corona's toxicology screening with the cause and manner of death.
Silva Corona has no record of having been issued a driver's license, according to DPS. The absence of that document made it difficult to determine whether Silva Corona had any prior encounters with law enforcement

Yes, I believe it was a suicide run and he didn't care anything about who he was also going to kill. He knew what he was doing as he had miles of chances to turn around and go the right way. So sad for this officers family, and all those people that he helped to show that being a good person was the right way to live.

Carrie Bethel - I seriously doubt it was a "suicide run". He had "miles of chances" to kill himself and never did. The only reason the crash took place was because there was nowhere for the officer to get out of the way
