There are far more surrounding structures than the city even knows about that may have been damaged after Friday morning’s North Bend explosion.
The Johnsons showed KIRO 7 their front yard after the blast. They live about a block from the site.
"It was terrifying, I have never been so scared in my entire life. I was shaken," Brian and Aly Johnson said.
They don't know if they can legally live here anymore. The city inspected their damage that day.
"He gave us a temporary, limited entry permit," Brian explains.
A structural engineer could declare their house unsafe on Monday.
"The next concern was the structural integrity of the structures that were impacted," says Londi Lindell, North Bend city administrator.
Lindell says about 40 homes and buildings besides the ones flattened were damaged, that she knows of.
The city has already checked out most places with obvious damage like boarded up windows but the problem is there doesn't have to be extensive damage for a structure not to be sound, and the city wants to hear from those people as well.
