April 24, 2014 Afghan Guard Shoots Kills 3 American Doctors in Kabul Three Americans were shot and killed by an Afghan security guard who opened fire on five doctors. An American nurse was also wounded. The motive was unclear since the Taliban did not claim responsibility. It was the second insider attack after April 4th shooting of AP photojournalists by an Afghan policeman, as media noted that attacks have shifted towards civilians as troops have been withdrawing. Filipino-American pediatrician Jerry Umanos from Chicago was one of the victims. The Telegraph reported in 2010 British doctor Karen Woo was among a group of 8 doctors who were killed by the Taliban in bullet riddled cars in Afghanistan. Salon reported in 2012, a Navy SEAL was killed in a rescue of a US doctor in Afghanistan.

The U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan confirmedthat three American doctors were killed by an Afghan security guard who opened fire at a Kabul hospital.
As usual, there is no conceivable motive, he probably had mental problems or was a disgruntled patient. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to believe the killing might be an assassination ordered by the Taliban.
