  1. 1 gun threat January 31, 2014 Devin Rivera, 18 was arrested in the food court of  New Jersey's Paramus' Westfield Garden State Plaza after police received calls that he was brandishing a black semi-automatic handgun. It was a BB gun so he was charged with unlawful purpose for possession of an imitation firearm.  He said he carried because he was afraid of other shoppers. nbcnewyork
  2. 1 killed January 31, 2014 Minneapolis Good Samaritan Shot By Devon Parker In Minneapolis, Minnesota, elderly veteran Thomas Sonnenberg called 911 after letting in Davon Parker who claimed to be pursued by men with baseball bats. The police found Sonnenberg shot to death by his own gun, and arrested Parker, who was due to appear in court, and had been acting erratically in previous weeks
  3. 1 terroristic threat to school January 31, 2014 King Philip Middle School Gun Threat King Philip Middle School's head cook Wendy Ferris threatened a school shooting "I'm thinking about going out to buy an AK-47 and shooting this (expletive) school up!" after being told she had baked cookies improperly. She was arraigned on charges on February 3 and ordered to surrender her guns and stay away from the school.

No motives given for any incident.

In all but two of the batches, a white-powder substance was put in the envelopes. The hoax letters were mailed to cities across the U.S. and to U.S. Embassies abroad. Most recently, some letters were mailed to hotels in the vicinity of this year's Super Bowl in New Jersey... focused on Truong after an IP address associated with him was identified after 28 public schools in Boston received letters in June 2013, according to the complaint. The mailings, also sent to U.S. embassies around the world, frequently contained the same disjointed rant. "Al Qaeda back!," In 2002, Truong told police he hears voices in his head. He claimed the FBI, DEA, ATF and police are after him and beaming radar into his body.
