He and pulled out a pistol as he was being taken into an office, fired several shots near the front door and ran out of the store with a woman suspected of being Ana Molina, and drove off. The next morning, California Highway Patrol officers saw a black, 7-series BMW pulled over on State Route which took off when police approached to assist. It crashed into an SUV, but continued until they ditched then car, then held a man at gunpoint and stole his Ford F-150 truck, pushed victim fell 60 feet down a ravine, fracturing his leg, injuring his head and cutting his arms and legs. He was rescued by helicopter and taken to hospital in serious condition,  The couple was arrested  when they tried to flee down a dead end road, Oceanside police said. . Lam and Molina were booked into jail on charges of evading police, hit and run and carjacking, as well as charges stemming from the Target shooting Thursday
