3 killed 1 arrested February 10, 2015 Three NC Muslim Students Aiding Syrian Refugees Killed by Atheist Over Parking Argument Craig Stephen Hicks is arrested when three Muslim Chapel Hill college students where shot and killed: Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23; his wife, Yusor Abu-Salha, 21; and her sister, Raleigh, N.C. resident Razan Abu-Salha. Police believe the shooting was over a parking space at the condominium complex where they were neighbors. However those who believe it may have been motivated by hate and bias against religions including Islam observe that Craig Stephen Hicks has been called a radical atheist for Facebook posts supporting “Atheists for Equality” and blasted “radical Christians and radical Muslims". Barakat was Syrian-American and 10 other dental students at the school were scheduled to go to Turkey in the summer, where they were going to treat Syrian refugees as part of a project organized by UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry and the Syrian-American Medical Society The father of the two women, Mohammad Abu-Salha called it a hate crime as "It was execution style, a bullet in every head ... This was not a dispute over a parking space; this was a hate crime. This man had picked on my daughter and her husband a couple of times before, and he talked with them with his gun in his belt
Parking argument is a cover story for an obvious political motive.

- Terrorism (Heavy) Muslim advocates are crying foul that the shooting deaths aren’t being labeled as “terrorism.” But as the dictionary definition of terrorism is “the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims”, there is no basis for calling the tragedy terrorism. While Muslim communities oftentimes may feel victimized by the word terrorism, Hicks had no political goals....

- Heavy conspiracy theories Why 3 muslims killed? ether the reasoning for partitioning these victims’ is to perpetuate Islamophilia or Islamophobia is a matter of debate, but with homicides in the United States averaging about 30 a day, there seems to be more to this story as to why it is getting the media attention it is. 10 hours after the fact, but aligned perfectly with President Obama’s request for congressional support in fighting ISIS with boots on the ground.

Three people, Deah Shaddy Barakat, Yusor Mohammad, and Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, were killed in a school shooting that occurred on February 10, 2015, near the campus of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States. Chapel Hill police arrested Craig Stephen Hicks, who allegedly shot and killed the three people in a single attack.[5][6][7]
Shooting[edit]
On February 10, at about 5:15 pm, police responded to reports of gunshots near the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. They found three people, whom they pronounced dead on the scene.[8]
Victims[edit]
Three Muslim college students were killed, a married couple and a relative.[9]
- Deah Shaddy Barakat, age 23[10]
- Yusor Mohammad, age 21
- Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, age 19
Alleged perpetrator[edit]
Craig Stephen Hicks is from North Carolina. According to The Independent, he appears to be a "critic of religions" on his social media profile.[11] Most of his Facebook posts[12] mock religion and support atheism. Hicks' Facebook images also included an image of his "loaded 38 revovler [sic]".[13] Hicks turned himself in to the police later that night.[14][15]
Motives[edit]
The initial investigation suggests that the shooting was the result of a dispute over a parking spot. Anti-Islamic statements by the shooter led the Council on American–Islamic Relations to call for law enforcement to consider a "possible bias motive".[16] The father of the two women, Mohammad Abu-Salha, stated that the killings bore signs of a hate crime based on religion and culture. "It was execution style, a bullet in every head ... This was not a dispute over a parking space; this was a hate crime. This man had picked on my daughter and her husband a couple of times before, and he talked with them with his gun in his belt. And they were uncomfortable with him, but they did not know he would go this far."[17]
