  6. 6 killed October 29, 2013 Bryan Sweatt Kills 5 Greenwood County Mass Murder Suicide WP: A man shoots and kills five people and then commits suicide at a house in Greenwood County, South Carolina, U.S. (CNN) In Callison near Greenwood County, South Carolina, Bryan Sweatt was found dead after he called police telling them he was going to hurt himself. After the sound of gunfire erupted, police found that Sweatt had broken in to the home of a former girlfriend, waited for the family to come home, and took 4 adults and 2 children in the home hostage. He bound them with duct tape and shot them with a large caliber handgun execution style, some two or three times, before shooting himself. Victims were identified as Chandra Marie Fields, 26, Richard Allen Fields, 51, Melissa Maroney Fields, 49, Tariq Robinson, 11, and William Robinson, 9. Richard and Melissa Fields are Chandra's parents. The two boys, Tariq and William, are Chandra's nephews. Headlines later note this is one of 4 mass murders in 4 days. Police believe it may be been related to a bitter custody dispute, and he ranted on Facebook before the crime. Bryan Sweatt Kills 5 Greenwood County Mass Murder Suicide In Callison near Greenwood County, South Carolina, Bryan Sweatt was found dead after he called police telling them he was going to hurt himself. Four children escaped to next door. After the sound of gunfire erupted, police found that Sweatt had taken the 4 adults and 2 children  in the home hostage, bound them with duct tape and shot them before committing suicide. He had been dating a woman inside the home..
  7. 1 home invasion robbery October 29, 2013 North Side Indianapolis Home Invasion October 29, 2013 Home invasion in Indianapolis started in the parent's bedroom, yelling to give them money. The suspects drove the mother to an ATM to get money and shot her twice, while the daughter who thought she recognized one of the suspects was raped and also forced to go to an ATM. The suspects left with all three of the family’s vehicles, cash and belongings. Two of the suspects are thought to be connected to another home invasion. Fingerprints led police to Alexander Dupree, Trae Spells and a person of interest, Michael Pugh

  9. 1 killed 2 wounded October 29, 2013 Two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were wounded and a suspect killed just after midnight in Inglewood when gunfire erupted after a routine traffic stop made by the deputies. It was unclear why the suspects fired at them.
  10. 1 killed October 29, 2013 Man Shot, Killed Execution-Style Inside North Philly Store  In Philadelphia, PA, a masked gun followed 21 year old Kontue Johnson into the My City Supermareket. The gunman then fired 13 shots into Johnson with a semi-automatic handgun, and then stood over him after he collapsed and shot him again execution style. The only motive was that it was said to have stemmed from an argument, which is a common spark for terroristic shootings or beatings.

January 17 Bolshoi acid attack trial begins A court in Moscow has begun a hearing in the trial of the three suspects of the January 17 acid attack on the Bolshoi Theater’s artistic director, Sergey Filin. The Bolshoi ballet’s star dancer, Pavel Dmitrichenko, who is accused of masterminding the attack that nearly blinded Filin, has denied his guilt. The second suspect, who is accused of carrying out the actual attack, pleaded guilty to tossing sulfuric acid onto the face of Filin.
