February 24, 2016 3 young Muslim Americans in Fort Wayne Indiana killed in mysterious execution style murders www.vox.com Feb 26, 2016 ·The young men were members of a predominantly Muslim diaspora community whose roots are in Africa's eastern Sahel region. They were Muhannad Tairab, age 17, Adam Mekki, age 20, and Mohamedtaha Omar, age 23. Police have identified no motive in the killing, which appears to be something of a mystery... building had become something of a "party house" used by local youths, but police said there was no known connection to gangs or any other violent organization... Were they killed for their religion? A police spokesperson cautioned against jumping to conclusions, stating that, as of yet, they had "no reason to believe this was any type of hate crime, or focused because of their religion or their nationality whatsoever."

Barakat was Syrian-American and 10 other dental students at the school were scheduled to go to Turkey in the summer, where they were going to treat Syrian refugees as part of a project organized by UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry and the Syrian-American Medical Society

Kwan then committed suicide with a gunshot to her stomach, Fayad was a professor that taught anatomy and physiology and was highly regarded by both his students and fellow faculty members He received his medical doctorate degree in 1995 from Aleppo University School of Medicine in Syria.

April 27, 2014 German Turkish Exchange Student Shot and Killed in Montana Garage In Missoula, Montana, Markus Kaarma is accused of setting a trap when he shot 17 year old intruder Diren Dede. Dede was a German exchange student of Muslim Turkish heritage. Kaarma appears to be of Asian ancestry, and some believe he may be a US citizen of Russian origin. Kaarma is a common name in Estonia. On December 17, 2015, a jury found Markus Hendrik Kaarma guilty of deliberate homicide.

May 30, 2013 Killing and dragging of Somali grocer Abdinasir Mahmoud video of him being dragged through the streets of Port Elizabeth was widely shared on social media, Al Jazeera reported.Abdinasir Mahmoud, who moved to South Africa in 2008, was a grocery store owner and operator In daylight of Thursday, May 30, a mob of black South Africans attacked him and two other relatives in store in Port Elizabeth. Moments later, Abdinasir Mahmoud made his way back to the store to make sure his men were safe. But he found himself surrounded by the mob, forming a shocking scene that spelled out the last moments of his life. Mmob took turns to smash the helpless Abdinasir Mahmoud with rocks pouring on his face and kicks on his head until he died on the scene. Other photos showed Abdinasir Mahmoud’s legs tied in ropes, as his body is beaten and dragged on rocky street Attacks on Somali Shopkeepers On 30 May 2013, 25-year-old Abdi Nasir Mahmoud Good, was stoned to death. Three Somali shopkeepers had been killed in June 2013 and the Somali government requested the South African authorities to do more to protect their nationals. Among those murdered were two brothers who were allegedly hacked to death.
